What is happening?

Notice is given that the Council of the City of Peterborough intends in not less than seven days to make an Order pursuant to section 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:

The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

Springfield, Fletton                                                         Ref: 26-048

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Springfield, Fletton, as lies between 30m east of Fletton Avenue junction and 20m further east. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: A605 Fletton Avenue. The proposed order will come into force on the 06/06/2025 and will continue until the new gas connection works have been completed or until the 05/06/2026, whichever is the earlier. The City of Peterborough Temporary Prohibition of Through Traffic Order 2025 – 

King Street, Maxey                                                          Ref: 26-049

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as King Street, Maxey as lies between points 20 metres either side of Bainton Green Level Crossing. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: via B1443 King St, West St, Glinton Rd, Helpston Rd, A15, Maxey Rd, High St and vice versa. The proposed Order will come into force on the 08/06/2025 and will continue until the railway level crossing maintenance works have been completed or until the 07/06/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between 23:00 and 06:00 on the 08/06/2025 to the 09/06/2025. Padholme Road                                                               Ref: 26-050

The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Padholme Road, as lies between 66 Padholme Road to 61 Charles Street. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Eastfield Road, Eastfield Road roundabout 39, St Johns Street, Wellington Street, Star Road and vice versa. The proposed order will come into force on the 09/06/2025 and will continue until the linkbox replacement works have been completed or until the 08/06/2026, whichever is the earlier. Closure dates will be confirmed locally on site. It is anticipated that the works will take place between the 09/06/2025 and the 13/06/2025. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this Notice. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above roads. The alternative routes for vehicles affected by this order are detailed in the schedule above. This notice is made in the interest of cut and patch works and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from the 02/06/2025. It is anticipated that these works will take place overnight between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs from the 02/06/2025 to the 04/06/2025. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform. The effect of which is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along the road known as Church Lane, Helpston, outside number 3A. Access will be maintained to properties affected by this Notice. The Council is satisfied that traffic should be prohibited due to proposed works being executed on the above road. The alternative route for vehicles affected by this order is: Glinton Road, Maxey Road and vice versa. This notice is made in the interest of sewer connection works and will remain effective for no more than 5 days from 05/06/2025. The Notice shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which it is made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or any person acting with permission or upon the direction of a police Officer in uniform.
