What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Honeypot Lane (C92) Edenbridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 28 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Honeypot Lane (C92) Edenbridge which extends from its junction with Dwelly Lane (C85) to its junction with Grants Lane (D431).

Alternative Route – Honeypot Lane (C92), Crouch House Road, Lingfield Road, Haxted Road (C87), Dwelly Lane (C85) or the same route in reverse.

This Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works, which is anticipated to be completed within 1 day, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 02 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. All other vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Park View (D553) Horley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 28 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Park View (D553) Horley as extends from its south-western junction with (A23) Brighton Road to its junction with (X24049) Parkway. Alternative Route – A23 Brighton Road, and Park View or this same route in reverse. 

The Order is required to allow mains gas replacement works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of SGN within the length of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over three weeks between the hours of 8am and 5pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 09 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. 

All other traffic, including residents and the emergency services will be required to use the signed diversion route.

Various Roads in Warlingham Village Temporary Traffic Management Order 2025

On 28 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and (7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to:- 1. Prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- a) That length of B270 Westhall Road, Warlingham that extends from its junction with D1348 Leas Road, to its junction with B269 The Green. 

Alternative route:- B269 The Green, B269 Limpsfield Road, D1382 Tithepit Shaw Lane, B270 Hillbury Road and B270 Westhall Road. b) The entire length of B269 The Green, Warlingham. Alternative routes:- (i) For closure at eastern end of the triangle between B269 Limpsfield Road and B269 The Green – South-eastbound along B269 Limpsfield Road to the roundabout junction with Chelsham Road, U-turn at the roundabout to return back towards The Green. (ii) For closure of the south and west sides of The Green – B269 Limpsfield Road, D1382 Tithepit Shaw Lane, B270 Hillbury Road and B270 Westhall Road. c) D1348 Redvers Road, Warlingham that extends from its junction with D1348 Leas Road for a distance of 75m westwards. Alternative route:- D1348 Leas Road and B270 Westhall Road. 2. Prohibit vehicles from waiting, loading, and unloading at any time on both sides of the length of:- (i) D1348 Chapel Road, Warlingham from the existing DYL at its junction with B269 Limpsfield Road, to the existing DYL at its junction with D1348 Leas Road. (ii) D1348 Leas Road, Warlingham from the existing DYL at its junction with B270 Westhall Road, to the existing DYL at its junction with D1348 Chapel Road. (iii) D1348 Redvers Road, Warlingham from the existing DYL at its junction with D1348 Leas Road, westwards for a distance of 75m. 3. Suspend the one-way system for traffic in that length of B269 Limpsfield Road, Warlingham that extends from the eastern arm to the north-western arm of B269 The Green.

This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out highway improvement works:- kerbing, surfacing, paving and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out within 6 months of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 02 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, waiting restrictions and suspension will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Works are anticipated to be carried out in sections, including some phases at night. The temporary closure in the west side of The Green between Westhall Road and the north-eastern arm of Limpsfield Road is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day when operational, and the temporary closure in D1348 Redvers Road, Warlingham, is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day throughout the duration of works. 

Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. For Part 1.a) and b) access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained at all times. For Part 1.c) Access for emergency services, residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative route described above.

The temporary waiting restrictions described in Part 2. above are anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day.

Exemptions for any vehicle being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency, any vehicle being used in connection with the works vehicles, any vehicle when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control, and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer, will apply when the temporary waiting restrictions are in force. 

(N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).

High Road (C136) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.2) 2025

On 28 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) High Road (C136) Chipstead as extends from its junction with (C139) White Hill to its junction with (D1157) Markedge Lane and; (b) Suspend “The Surrey County Council C136 High Road, Chipstead and Upper Gatton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a) of this Notice. Alternative Route: (a) High Road, Blackhorse Lane, (A217) Brighton Road, Chipstead Lane, and White Hill; (b) White Hill, Chipstead Lane, (A217) Brighton Road, Babylon Lane, and High Road. This Order is required to facilitate tree cutting and replacement telecom pole works for, or on behalf of BT Openreach. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 day, between the hours of 8.30am and 3.30pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 10 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.

Church Lane (D1421) Chaldon Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No. 2) 2025
On 23 May 2025, Surrey County Council made the abovementioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to: (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Church Lane (D1421) Chaldon as extends from is junction with Doctors Lane (D1421) to its junction with Rook Lane (B2031); and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Church Lane (D1421) Chaldon Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” shall be suspended insofar as it relates to the length of road described in (a).

Alternative route – B2031 (Rook Lane and Chaldon Road), B2030 (Townend, Banstead Road and Coulsdon Road), B276 (Marlpit Lane), Downs Road, Ditches Lane, or this route in reverse.

The Order is required to allow Openreach to facilitate cabling, splicing and all associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 weeks during the hours of 9.00am to 5.00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 10 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained.

Leatherhead Road (A24) Leatherhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Leatherhead Road (A24) Leatherhead as extends from its roundabout with (A24) and (A243) By-Pass Road, and (B2122) Epsom Road to its junction with (D2575) Grange Road. Alternative Route: (1) (A24) Leatherhead Road, (A24) The Street, (A24) Epsom Road, (A24) Dorking Road, (A24) South Street, (A24) High Street, (A2022) Upper High Street, (A2022) Alexandra Road, (A2022) College Road, (A240) Reigate Road, (A217) Brighton Road, (A217) Reigate Hill, (A217) London Road, (A25) Castlefield Road, (A25) Church Street, (A25) High Street, (A25) West Street, (A25) Buckland Road, (A25) Reigate Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, (A24) London Road, (A24) Mickleham By-Pass, (A24) London Road, (A24) Dorking Road, and (A24) ByPass Road. (2) (A24) By-Pass Road, (A24) Dorking Road, (A24) London Road, (A24) Mickleham By-Pass, (A24) London Road, (A24) Deepdene Avenue, (A25) Reigate Road, (A25) Buckland Road, (A25) West Street, (A25) London Road, (A217) London Road, (A217) Reigate Hill, (A217) Brighton Road, (A240) Reigate Road, (A2022) College Road, (A2022) Alexandra Road, (A2022) Upper High Street, (A24) High Street, (A24) Ashley Road, (A24) Ashley Avenue, (A24) South Street, (A24) Dorking Road, (A24) Epsom Road, (A24) The Street, and (A24) Leatherhead Road. This Order is required to facilitate joint investigation works for, or on behalf of Octavius Infrastructure Ltd. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 nights, between the hours of 8pm and 5am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 June 2025. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the marshalls on site, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

Hazelwood Lane (C137) Chipstead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Hazelwood Lane (C137) Chipstead as it extends from its junction with Hazelwood Lane (C137) leading to High Road (C136) to its junction with High Road (C136).

Alternative Route – Hazelwood Lane, High Road and Hazelwood Lane.

This Order is required to enable Road Traffic Solutions Ltd to facilitate installation of underground service cables and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 June 2025 for 4 days. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times.

Trowers Way (D1262) Redhill Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025
Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Trowers Way (D1262) Redhill as it extends from its junction with Frenches Road (C224) to its junction with Holmethorpe Avenue (D1262).

Alternative Route – Trowers Way, Ormside Way and Frenches Road, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable NETS International Limited to facilitate remedial works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 June 2025 for 4 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Punchbowl Lane (D2857) and Overdale (D2857) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the abovementioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of: (a) Punchbowl Lane (D2857) Dorking as it extends from its junction with Reigate Road (A25) to a point 190 metres south of this junction; (b) the entire length of Overdale (D2857) Dorking; and (c) suspend “The Surrey County Council Punchbowl Lane (D2857) Dorking Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No. 2) 2024” insofar as it relates to the length of Punchbowl Lane described in (a).

Alternative Route – A25 (Reigate Road), A24 (Deepdene Avenue), Chart Lane and South, or this route in reverse.

This Order is required to enable Openreach to facilitate communications works and associated works. These works are anticipated to be carried out over two phases during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order. The first phase will commence on 25 June 2025 for 2 days, between the hours of 9.30am and 4.00pm and the second phase will commence on 14 July for 1 day, between the hours of 9.30am and 3.30pm. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, residents, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times.
