Essex - Multiple Temporary Road Closures due to Utility and Infrastructure Works

What is happening?

Essex County Council

(Faulkbourne Road, Witham)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Faulkbourne Road, Witham in the District of Braintree, from a point approximately 225m north west of its junction with Flora Road for a distance of approximately 105m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th June 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (BC008WG3KVN8LSB – Openreach). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while pole replacement works are undertaken by Openreach.

An alternative route is available via Flora Road, Powers Hall End, Chipping Hill, Braintree Road, Cressing Road, Witham Road, Braintree Road, Cressing Road, A120, Notley Cross, Garden Village Way, London Road, Bakers Lane, The Street, Witham Road, Church Hill, The Street, Faulkbourne Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 29th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Gosfield Road, Braintree & Bocking)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Gosfield Road, Braintree and Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Halstead Road for a distance of approximately 400m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 16th June 2025 for 19 days or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001422117 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via A131, A1124 and vice versa (with access only into Braintree Road, Hedingham Road, The Street and Braintree Road).

The Order will come into effect on 29th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Albert Road, Braintree & Bocking)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Albert Road, Braintree & Bocking in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Coggeshall Road to its junction with Manor Street a distance of approximately 285m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 2nd June 2025 for 15 days, or where stated on a valid permit (AZ5011001410815 – Cadent). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent.

An alternative route is available via Coggeshall Road, Coggeshall Road – Railway Street Junction, Railway Street, Trinovantian Way, Manor Street and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 15th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(De Vere Close, Hatfield Peverel)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

1. To temporarily close that length of De Vere Close, Hatfield Peverel in the District of Braintree, from its junction with Church Road for a distance of approximately 225m in a north easterly then north westerly direction to its end.

2. To temporarily introduce a ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping’ restriction in the above length of road for the duration of the above closure only.

The Essex County Council (Braintree District) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 will be temporarily amended to include the temporary ‘No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping at Any Time’ restriction in the above length of road and waiting restrictions on the north and south sides of roads only. All other restrictions and exemptions contained in the aforementioned Orders and amendments to that Order shall remain in force.

The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 5th June 2025 for 6 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP02231012764 – Blade Traffic Management). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while works are undertaken by Blade Traffic Management.

An alternative route is available for this closure.

The Order came into effect on 15th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
