THE BARNET (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.1) ORDER 2025

THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.1) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 51 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.

  1. In order to better allocate parking, and improve sightlines and safety, the general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would be to introduce new lengths at “any time” waiting restrictions at the following locations:

    (a) At the junction of Calvert Road and Sebright Road EN5.

    (b) At the junction of Highlands Road and Leicester Road EN5.

    (c) At the junction of Hillgrove Avenue and Orchard Drive HA8.

    (d) At the junction of Kings Drive and Orchard Drive HA8.

    (e) At the junction of Cloister Gardens and Grange Hill HA8.

    (f) At the junction of Orchard Crescent and Grange Hill HA8.

    (g) Certain lengths of Belle Vue Road NW4, outside Nos.17 to 23 Calvert Road EN5, outside 26 Rembrandt Avenue NW4, outside No.9 Greenhill Park EN5, outside Nos.31 to 39 Green Lane NW4, outside Nos.2 to 8 Dennis Lane NW4 and outside 20 Daws Lane NW7, to introduce “at any time” waiting restrictions.

    (h) North Close EN5 – West side, outside No.10. No.12 Mays Lane EN5.

    (i) Denton Close EN5 – Northeast side, outside Nos.16 to 26 Denton Close.

    (j) Hill Close EN5 – East side, between No.2 to No.12 and Brett Road EN5.

    (k) Main Close EN5 – West side, between the junction of Quinta Drive and opposite No.5 Mains Close.

    (l) North Close EN5 – East side, outside Nos.1 to 11 North Close EN5.

  2. The general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would also upgrade existing lengths of waiting restrictions to operate “At any time” at the following locations below:

    (a) 11am to 12pm Monday to Friday waiting restrictions outside PH House, Albion Crescent NW4.

    (b) 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Sunday waiting restrictions outside No.31 Rethers Avenue NW4.

    (c) 8am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday waiting restrictions at Alderton Crescent NW4 (Side of No.17 Vivian Avenue).

  3. The general effect of the Free Parking Places Order would also be to introduce new lengths of no waiting and no loading “At any time” restrictions at the following locations:

    (a) In order to improve road safety, particularly near bends and junctions, bus stop clearway markings would be introduced outside:

    i. No.11 Longmore Avenue NW4 and would be replaced by a 12m long bus stop clearway, operating from 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday.

    ii. Outside No.31 Littleton Road NW4, which would be replaced by a 12m long bus stop clearway, operating from 11am to 12pm Monday to Friday.

    iii. In the general vicinity of junction of Orchard Drive and Kings Drive HA8, to introduce “Bus Stop Clearway” markings to improve short-term parking operations.

    iv. In the general proximity at Church Road NW4, the general effect of the Orders would be to:

(b) Extend the length of the existing short stay payment parking bay outside Nos.9 to 17 Church Road NW4 by 14 metres. As a result of the short stay payment parking bay being extended, a new length of waiting restrictions operating from 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday and the loading bay situated outside Wohl Court and No.17 Church Road NW4, would be formally removed.

  1. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet by the powers conferred under section 15 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1974 is resolving to formalise lengths of footway parking in the following roads listed below:

    (a) Manus Way N20 – Opposite Nos.7 to 11 Manus Way.

    (b) Denton Close EN5 – Outside Nos.15 to 19 Denton Close EN5.

    (c) Hill Close EN5 – East side, between No.1 and No.19 Hill Close EN5.

    (d) Mains Close EN5 – Between the side of Nos.10 to 15 Wardale Court (Mains Close) and outside Nos.1 to 5 Mains Close EN5.

    (e) North Close EN5 – East side, outside Nos.2 to 12 North Close EN5.

    (f) Brett Road EN5 – Northwest side, outside Nos.1 to 15 Brett Road and the side of No.1 Quinta Drive (Brett Road).

    (g) Farm Close EN5 – Northeast side between Nos.2 to 8 Farm Close.

    (h) Farm Close EN5 – Southwest side between Nos.1 to 7 Farm Close and the side of No.1 Rycroft Crescent (Farm Close).

    (i) Hackforth Close – East side, between a point 7 metres from the southeastern kerbline of Rycroft Crescent and a point in line with the common boundary of No.4 and No.6 Hackforth Close.

    (j) Raebarn Gardens EN5 – Between Nos.4 and 20 Raebarn Gardens, between Nos.1 to 15 Raebarn Gardens and the side of No.81 Quinta Drive.

    (k) St Peter’s Close EN5 – Between Nos.2 to 8 St Peter’s Close and the side of No.45 Rycroft Crescent.

Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Orders can be inspected online via the Council’s website or obtained by visiting https://www.barnet.gov.uk/parking.

Objections to the proposals must be made in writing stating the grounds for objection and sent by:

  • post to: Design Team, Highways Section, 3rd Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale NW9 4EW

All objections must be received within 28 days of the date of this Notice.
