Hertfordshire, Multiple Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN NORTON BURY LANE, LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY AND PIRTON ROAD, HOLWELL) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on the Roads, as indicated by signs, while works are in progress:-

  1. that length of Norton Bury Lane, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with Norton Way North westwards for a distance of approximately 360m.

  2. that length of Pirton Road, Holwell from its junction with Howell Road south-westwards and south eastwards for a distance of approximately 373m.

An alternative route will be: Norton Bury Lane, A600 Bedford Road, A505 (Bedford Road/ Works Road), Pixmore Road, Works Road, Letchworth Gate and Norton Bury Lane.

The above lengths of Roads will be closed and waiting restrictions will be in place for resurfacing works. The closure and restrictions shall only apply at such times when indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order is made, it shall come into force on 9 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN DRAPERS WAY AND LETCHMORE ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on the Roads, as indicated by signs, while works are in progress:-

  1. that length of Drapers Way, Stevenage from its junction with Primett Road north eastwards to an alternate route will be via High Street, A602 (James Way/Lytton Way) and Primett Road or via Primett Road, A602 Lytton Way, Trinity Way and High Street.

  2. that length of Letchmore Road, Stevenage from its junction with High Street south eastwards for a distance of approximately 27m.

An alternative route will be via High Street, Walkern Road and Letchmore Road.

The above lengths of Roads will be closed and waiting restrictions will be in place for resurfacing works. The closures and restrictions shall only apply at such times when indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS FOOTPATHS IN STEVENAGE AND HITCHIN) ORDER NO.2 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of Footpaths (“the Footpaths”):-

  1. the footpath situated on the south side of Nos.34-54 Torquay Crescent, Stevenage from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.54 Torquay Crescent south westwards for a distance of approximately 46m.

  2. the footpath situated on the west side of Nos.110-120 Torquay Crescent, Stevenage from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.120 Torquay Crescent south westwards for a distance of approximately 133m.

  3. the footpath situated between Nos.122-132 Torquay Crescent, Stevenage from a point in line with the southern boundary of No.122 Torquay Crescent southwards, then south westwards for a distance of approximately 73m.

  4. the footpath situated between No.164 and No.176 Torquay Crescent, Stevenage from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No.164 Torquay Crescent south westwards and north westwards for a distance of approximately 44m.

    An alternative route will be via the footpath situated between No.164 and No.176 Torquay Crescent, the footpath situated on the north side of Nos.2-18 and Nos.1-15 Torquay Crescent, the footpath situated on the east side of Nos.127-129 Torquay Crescent, the footpath situated on the north side of Nos.25-57 Torquay Crescent, the footpath situated on the east side of No.95 Torquay Crescent, the footpath situated on the east side of Nos.71-77 Torquay Crescent and the footpath situated on the south side of Nos.5-17 Bideford Green.

  5. the footpath situated on the south side of No.15 Westmill, Hitchin from a point in line with the north west boundary of No.9 Mossfield south eastwards for a distance of approximately 33m.

    An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east side of Masefield and the footway situated on the west side of Tennyson Avenue.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footpaths.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 26 May 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpaths.
