Luton - Multiple Traffic Notices

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON (VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES) (No.12) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 27th May 2025 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Order will come into operation on 2nd June 2025 for a period of 18 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
Icknield Way from its junction with Newbold Road to its junction with Bramingham Road. Diversion route via Barton Road, Austin Road, Trinity Road, Neville Road, Icknield Way. Alternatively, via Newbold Road, Quantock Rise, Whitehorse Vale, Stockholm Way, Wauluds Bank Drive, Bramingham Road, Icknield Way. Anticipated dates and times of closures 2nd June 2025 to 5th June 2025, 9.30am to 3pm.
Newbold Road the whole length. Diversion route via Icknield Way, Barton Road, Austin Road, Trinity Road, Neville Road, Icknield Way. Alternatively, via Quantock Rise, Whitehorse Vale, Stockholm Way, Wauluds Bank Drive, Bramingham Road, Icknield Way. Anticipated dates and times of closures 2nd June 2025 to 5th June 2025, 8am to 6pm.
Northwell Drive from its junction with Whitehorse Vale roundabout to its junction with Lygetun Drive roundabout. Diversion route via Stockholm Way, Wauluds Bank Drive, Bramingham Road. Alternatively, via Whitehorse Vale, Quantock Rise, Newbold Road, Icknield Way, Bramingham Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 2nd June 2025 to 5th June 2025, 9.30am to 3pm.
Wigmore Lane from its junction with Eaton Green Road to its junction with Asda Roundabout. Diversion route via Eaton Green Road, Lalleford Road, Crawley Green Road, Wigmore Lane. Anticipated dates and times of closures 2nd June 2025 to 4th June 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Fairford Avenue the whole length. Diversion route via Bradgers Hill Road, Old Bedford Road, Stockingstone Road, New Bedford Road, Kingsdown Road, Bushmead Road. Alternatively, via Bushmead Road, Old Bedford Road, Bradgers Hill Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 3rd June 2025 to 6th June 2025, 8am to 6pm.
Lynwood Avenue the whole length. No diversion route available. Anticipated dates and times of closures 3rd June 2025 to 6th June 2025, 8am to 6pm.
Mixes Hill Road the whole length. No diversion route available. Anticipated dates and times of closures 3rd June 2025 to 6th June 2025, 8am to 6pm.
Ryecroft Way the whole length. No diversion route available. Anticipated dates and times of closures 3rd June 2025 to 6th June 2025, 8am to 6pm.
Bancroft Road from its junction with Black Swan Lane to its junction with Birdsfoot Lane. Diversion route via Austin Road, New Bedford Road, Barton Road, Birdsfoot Lane. Alternatively, via Laburnum Grove, Icknield Way, Bramingham Road, Marsh Road, Limbury Road, Trinity Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 3rd June 2025 to 5th June 2025, 8pm to 5am.
Ashburnham Road the whole length. Diversion route via Ferndale Road, Dallow Road, Dunstable Road, Cardiff Road. Alternatively, via Cardiff Road, Dunstable Road, Stuart Street, Castle Street, Flowers Way, Chapel Street, Farley Hill, Whipperley Way, Whipperley Ring, Felmersham Road, Long Croft Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 4th June 2025 to 7th June 2025, 8am to 6pm.
Grange Avenue from its junction with Compton Avenue to its junction with Station Road. Diversion route via High Street, Leagrave High Street, Lewsey Road, Dunstable Road, Waller Avenue, Marsh Road, Grange Avenue. Alternatively, via Grange Avenue, Marsh Road, Waller Avenue, Dunstable Road, Oakley Road, High Street. HGV diversion route via Oakley Road, Dunstable Road, Waller Avenue, Marsh Road, Sundon Park Road, Sundon Road, Luton Road. Anticipated dates and times of closures 4th June 2025 to 9th June 2025, 9.30am to 3pm.
Pastures Way from its junction with Ravenhill Way to its junction with Wheatfield Road. Diversion route via Ravenhill Way. Alternatively, via Wheatfield Road, Woodside Link, Poynters Road, Leagrave High Street, Pastures Way. Anticipated dates and times of closures 4th June 2025 to 7th June 2025, 9.30am to 3pm.
Wheatfield Road the whole length. Diversion route via Woodside Link, Poynters Road, Leagrave High Street, Pastures Way. Anticipated dates and times of closures 5th June 2025 to 8th June 2025, 8am to 6pm.

The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period as described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable carriageway surface treatment works to be carried out. For the period of the closures, the Order will also provide for “No Waiting and No Loading” restrictions to apply within the roads and lengths of roads closed for said works. Any vehicle deemed to be in contravention of the restrictions will be issued with a penalty charge notice and removed. This will be in force when traffic signs, barriers or cones are displayed. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic where available will be marked by signs.
