Felmersham Road, High Town Road - Various Temporary Road Closures

What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF LUTON
(VARIOUS ROADS)
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES)
(No.17) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is hereby given that Luton Borough Council, the Highway Authority for the said Borough, on 27th May 2025 made the above Order under the relevant provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

The Order will come into operation on 13th June 2025 for a period of 18 months or when the proposed works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. Specific dates and times will be signed locally. The Order will therefore be in operation during such date and time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs, barriers or cones.

The effect of the Order will allow the Council to close to vehicular traffic the following roads and lengths of roads:
Felmersham Road from its junction with Longcroft Road to its junction with Woodcock Road. Diversion route via Longcroft Road, Priestleys, Woodcock Road. Alternatively, via Longcroft Road, Ashburnham Road, Napier Road, Western Road, Winsdon Road, Meyrick Avenue, Bolingbroke Road, Whipperley Ring, Felmersham Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 13th June 2025 to 13th June 2025, 9.30am to 3pm.
High Town Road from its junction with Duke Street to its junction with Midland Road. Diversion route via Duke Street, Burr Street, Midland Road. Anticipated date and times of closure 16th June 2025 to 23rd June 2025.

The Order is intended to create a window for the works to be done and it is anticipated that the works will be completed over a period as described above. The purpose of the Order is to enable Thames Water to carry out essential maintenance works. Access will be maintained as best as possible to properties where this may be done safely whilst such works are being carried out and diversions for traffic where available will be marked by signs.
