What is happening?

HIGHWAYS

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

 CANTERBURY AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL
(VARIOUS ROADS, CANTERBURY) (SPEED LIMITS)
(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER
(AMENDMENT No.7) ORDER 2023

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL hereby make the above named Order under sections under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The effect of the Order will be to implement the various speed limits on the following length of roads in Lower Herne, Canterbury:

FURROWS DRIVE (1) Proposed 40mph speed limit from the Eddington southern roundabout at the junction with the Canterbury Road for a distance of 150 metres in a southerly direction. (2) Proposed 30mph speed limit 150 metres from the Eddington southern roundabout at the junction with Canterbury Road for a distance of 20 metres in a southerly direction. SLIP ROAD TO A299 SOUTHBOUND CARRIAGEWAY (1) Proposed 40mph speed limit from its junction with Furrows Drive for a distance of 50 metres in a north westerly direction. (2) Proposed 70mph speed limit 50 metres from its junction with Furrows Drive to continue onto A299 southbound carriageway. (3) Pedestrian Prohibition order 10 meters from its junction with Furrows Drive for a distance of 50 meters in a north westerly direction.

The Order was made on 29 May 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 30 May 2025.

Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement to the Orders.

DARTFORD

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, DARTFORD) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2020 (AMENDMENT No.31) ORDER 2025

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Notice is given that The KENT COUNTY COUNCIL acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter called “the Act”), and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby make the following Order:-

The effect of the named Order will introduce various waiting restrictions on the following lengths of road (in this part of the notice DYL’s means double yellow lines) waiting to be prohibited at any time on the following roads:-

Roads in Dartford in the Borough of Dartford

BRUNEL WAY – (1) Remove the single yellow lines for its entire length. (2) Place DYLs around both central islands. BOW ARROW LANE – DYL- (1) On the south side extend the existing lines from the junction with The Oaks for a distance of 8.5 metres in a westerly direction. (2) On the south side from the entrance junction to Green Acres to a point 26.5 metres west joining up with the existing lines and to a point 10 metres east. BULLS HEAD YARD – Place a no waiting at any time zone outside number 6. COPPERFIELDS – Place a no waiting at any time zone for its entire length. LAWRENCE HILL GARDENS – DYL – On both sides of the junction with Lawrence Hill Road for a distance of 10 metres in a north westerly direction. LAWRENCE HILL ROAD – DYL – On the west side to a point 10 metres south and 10 metres north from the junction with Lawrence Hill Gardens. RENNIE DRIVE – Place a no waiting at any time zone from a point 10 metres from the Rennie Drive and Halcrow roundabout to the extremity of the highway. STANHOPE ROAD – (1) On the east side remove the disable persons disable bay outside number 37. (2) On the east side place a disabled persons parking bay opposite 56/58. THE OAKS – DYL – On both sides of the junction with Bow Green Lane extend the existing lines by 10 metres in a southerly direction.

The Order was made on 29 May 2025 and its provisions will come into effect on 2 June 2025.

 DOVER

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, DOVER) (SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2022 (AMENDMENT No.13) ORDER 2025

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL, acting as Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers under sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, (hereinafter referred to as the Act) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act, hereby propose to make the following order.

The effect of the order would be to reduce the national speed limit and extend the current speed limit of 30MPH on the following length of roads in Eastry, Dover:- 

FOXBOROUGH HILL - From a point 48 metres north of its junction with Drainless Road for a distance of 8 meters in a northerly direction.

(SPEED LIMITS) (CONSOLIDTAION) ORDER 2023

(AMENDMENT No.5) ORDER 2025

Notice is given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL hereby propose to make the above named Order under sections under Sections 81, 82, 84 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Paragraph 20 of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The effect of the Order will be to implement a 20MPH speed limit on the following length of roads in Ightham, Tonbridge & Malling:

COBS CLOSE, OLDBURY CLOSE, OLDBURY LANE, SPRING LANE – For their entire length.

TUNBRIDGE WELLS AREA

THE KENT COUNTY COUNCIL

(VARIOUS ROADS, TUNBRIDGE WELLS) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 2024

(AMENDMENT No.10) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that the Kent County Council hereby proposes to make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 19, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.

The effect of the Order is to extend the existing double yellow lines (DYL) on the following length of roads in Tunbridge Wells:-

SANDHURST ROAD – DYL – On the south west side at its junction with Redleaf Close extend the existing restrictions from a point 15 metres in a north westerly and from a point 15 meters in a south easterly direction for a distance of 16 metres in a north westerly and south easterly direction respectively.
