THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT (BUS PRIORITY) (CONSOLIDATION) NO. 11 TRAFFIC ORDER 2025

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Brent (“the Council”) on 19th May 2025 made the above-mentioned Orders under section 6 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.

2. The general effect of the ‘Bus Priority’ Order will be to install a bus lane in a certain length of Neasden Lane North, between Press Road and Aboyne Road. The hours of operation would be between 7.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m. throughout the week.

3. The restrictions referred to in paragraph 2 above would not apply:-

(a) in relation to a taxi, a solo motorcycle or a pedal cycle entering that part of the carriageway; or

(b) in relation to any vehicle when used for fire brigade, ambulance or police purposes entering that part of the carriageway; or

(c) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or

(d) to any person who causes any vehicle to proceed in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed pursuant to section 66 or 67 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

4. A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 2nd June 2025, of maps of the relevant areas and of the above-mentioned Order of 2017 (and of the Orders which have amended that Order) can be requested via email during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of a period of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order are made at Brent Customer Services, Brent Civic Centre, Engineers Way, Wembley, Middlesex, HA9 0FJ.

5. Copies of the Order may be purchased from the address mentioned in paragraph 4 above.

6. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within six weeks of the date on which the Order were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
