What is happening?
Essex County Council
(Hall Green Lane, Hutton) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (Hanging Hill Lane, Hutton) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Hall Green Lane, Hutton in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Lordship Close for a distance of approximately 45m in a south easterly direction.
2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of Hanging Hill Lane, Hutton in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Hall Green Lane to its junction with Rayleigh Road a distance of approximately 530m as cited in the “Brentwood Borough Council (7.5 Tonnes Weight Restriction) Order 1994” for the duration of the closure only.
The closure/restriction are scheduled to commence on 23rd June 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013330100 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction are required for the safety of the public and workforce while new connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Hutton Village, Rayleigh Road, Hanging Hill Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Hay Green Lane, Hook End) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Hay Green Lane, Hook End in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Hook End Road for a distance of approximately 200m in a easterly then north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 23rd June 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EC30072488943 – UK Power Networks).
The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while installation works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
An alternative route is available via Hay Green Lane, Ingatestone Road, Hook End Road, Hook End Lane, Blackmore Road, Wenlocks Lane and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Nags Head Lane, South Weald) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nags Head Lane, South Weald in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 65m south of its junction with A1023 for a distance of 200m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 30th June 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EN013326055 – Essex And Suffolk Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while new water connection works are undertaken by Essex And Suffolk Water.
An alternative route is available via Warley Road, Mascalls Lane, Brook Street and vice versa (with access only into Nags Head Lane).
The Order will come into effect on 11th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Nags Head Lane, South Weald/Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Nags Head Lane, South Weald/Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from the junction of Brook Street for a distance of approximately 505m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 7th July 2025 for 1 night (20:00-06:00), or where stated on a valid permit (MU059-L726-N2473-LDN – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while investigation works are undertaken by Thames Water.
An alternative route is available via Nags head Lane, B186, Mascalls Lane, A1023 and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Seven Arches Road/Hartswood Road, Warley) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Seven Arches Road/Hartswood Road, Warley in the Borough of Brentwood, from a point approximately 25m north west of the junction with Hartswood Close for a distance of approximately 135m in a north westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 6th July 2025 for 1 night (01:00-07:00), or where stated on a valid permit (KL701LTN1-18-52-060725 – Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network.
The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while detailed bridge examination works are undertaken by Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.
An alternative route is available via Hartswood Road, The Avenue, Ingrave Road, Seven Arches Road, Cornsland and vice versa.
The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Southend Arterial Road, West Horndon) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road (Eastbound), West Horndon in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with the Eastbound Off Slip From A127 To A128 to its junction with the Eastbound On Slip From A128 To A127 a distance of approximately 1045m.
2. To temporarily close that length of Southend Arterial Road (Westbound), West Horndon in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with the Westbound Off Slip From A127 To A128 to its junction with the Westbound On Slip From A128 To A127 a distance of approximately 1045m.
The closures are scheduled to commence on 23rd June 2025 for 4 days, or where stated on a valid permit (EP20119075429 – Essex County Council). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while bridge inspection works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
An alternative route is available via A127, Halfway House Roundabout.
The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Various Roads, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Streetworks No.2) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, notless than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order: To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the Borough of Brentwood, as detailed in the Schedule.
The works are scheduled to commence after 4th June 2025, as stated on a valid permit. The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on One.Network. The roads will be closed to facilitate each phase and then re-opened to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency services. Diversion routes will be signed at each location and residents will be informed of the dates of each phase via letter/leaflet drop and advanced warning signs on the roads.
The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while mains replacement works are undertaken by Cadent Gas.
The Order will come into effect on 4th June 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
(Ingrave Road, Brentwood) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) & (High Street, Brentwood) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close that length of Ingrave Road, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood, from its junction with Orchard Avenue for a distance of approximately 45m in a north westerly direction.
2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction on that length of High Street, Brentwood in the Borough of Brentwood from its junction with Kings Road to its junction with Ingrave Road a distance of approximately 570m as cited in the “The Essex County Council (A1023 High Street, Brentwood) (7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2010” for the duration of the closure only.
The closure/restriction is scheduled to commence on 7th June 2025 for 1 night (20:00-05:00), or where stated on a valid permit (MG01818055/BT/CTM/KR- O2 (UK) Limited). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on one.network. The closure/restriction is required for the safety of the public and workforce while telecom mast maintenance works are undertaken by O2 (UK) Limited.

1. Ingrave Road, High Street, London Road, A1023 Spur From M25 J28 Roundabout, Brook Street, A12 M25 J28 Roundabout, Colchester Road, Eastern Avenue East, Slip Road From A127 To M25 Eastbound, Southend Arterial Road, Eastbound Slip From A128 To A127.
2. Westbound Slip From A128 To A127, Southend Arterial Road, Slip Road From A127 To M25 Westbound, Eastern Avenue East, Colchester Road, A12 M25 J28 Roundabout, Brook Street, A1023 Spur From M25 J28 Roundabout, London Road, High Street, Ingrave Road.
The Order came into effect on 21st May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
