Radcliffe On Trent Footpath No.1 - Temporary Prohibition For Repair Or Replace A Damaged Footbridge
What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF FOOTPATH
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(RADCLIFFE ON TRENT FOOTPATH NO.1) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Radcliffe on Trent Footpath No.1) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2024 (which came into force on 29th November 2024 and was continued in force by a Continuation Order until 28th May 2025 inclusive), being extended, and continuing in force until 28th November 2025 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect: -No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot, in the following length of Footpath at Radcliffe on Trent in the Borough of Rushcliffe :-
Radcliffe on Trent Footpath No.1, from its junction with the A52 Radcliffe Road/Grantham Road to where the path crosses a field south of the footbridge.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction the alternative route available for pedestrians will be as follows:-
An alternative route to the west via A52 Radcliffe Road, Holme Pierrepont Footpath No.4, Holme Pierrepont Footpath No.16, Stragglethorpe Road and vice versa. An alternative route to the east via A52 Grantham Road, Radcliffe-on-Trent Footpath No.2, Cotgrave Footpath No.2, Stragglethorpe Road and vice versa.
If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to enable works to repair or replace a damaged footbridge and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public.
