Wiltshire - Multiple Traffic Notices, Temporary Road Closures due to Works and an Event
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) The Street (Part), Pitton and Farley; from its junction with Ben Lane to its property known as Silverbirch Cottage to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out tree cutting and associated works. Alternative route via The Street (unaffected length) – Parsonage Hill – Church Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
B) Conholt Hill (Part), Chute; from its junction with Conholt Lane to its junction with Hippenscombe Bottom to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out surface patching and associated works. Alternative route via Fosbury Road – High Street – Upend Road – Conholt Lane and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 28 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. C) Station Road (Part), Great Wishford; from its junction with South Street to its junction with West Street to enable Wessex Internet to carry out lay approximately 230m duct and build chambers. Alternative route via West Street – South Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 26 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 11 June 2025. D) Old Marlborough Lane, Laverstock, Ford and Firsdown; from its junction with A338 to its junction with A30 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out verge overruns and associated works. Alternative route via A30 – A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 07:30 and 17:00 until 30 May 2025. E) C293 (Part), Allington; from its junction with Wyndham Lane for a distance of approximately 61m in a north easterly direction.
F) Wyndham Lane (Part), Allington; from its junction with C293 for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out repairs, maintenance cover and associated works. Alternative route via C293 (unaffected length) – A338 – C293 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 27 May 2025 and the closures will be required until 29 May 2025. For further information please contact Openreach on 0370 050 0792.
F) C64 (Part), Wylye; for a distance of approximately 50m at the level crossing to enable Network Rail Infrastructure to carry out level crossing and associated works. Alternative route via C64 (unaffected length) – B3089 – C277 – C276 – A303 – C10 – C64 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will include the closure which commenced on 15 March 2024 and will recommence on 31 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 23:30 and 07:30 until 01 June 2025. Orders A) to E) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. Order F) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The Order(s) for the above roads will all have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures may not be implemented for the full period but only as indicated above, whenever the works are actually being carried out. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

(a) Byway 10 (Part), Durrington; from its junction with Fargo Road to its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury/A344.
(b) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with Byway 10, Durrington/crossing the A344 over to its junction with A303 (T).
(c) Byway 12 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake.
(d) Byway 1 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 12, Amesbury to its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James.
(e) Byway 11 (Part), Berwick St James; from its junction with Byway 1, Wilsford cum Lake to its junction with Byway 16, Woodford.
(f) Byway 16 (Part), Woodford; from its junction with Byway 11, Berwick St James to its junction with A360, Druids Lodge.
(g) Byway 11 (Part), Amesbury; from its junction with A303 (T) in a southerly direction to its junction with Byway 2, Wilsford cum Lake.
(h) Byway 2 (Part), Wilsford cum Lake; from its junction with Byway 11, Amesbury to its junction with Footpath 3 at Springbottom Farm, Wilsford cum Lake.
(i) Footpath 4, Durrington, from its junction with the A345, to its junction with Fargo Road.
(j) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300m north at Woodhenge.
And to introduce a temporary No Waiting at any time restriction on the following lengths of road:
(k) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with A303 Longbarrow Roundabout to its junction with A344 (Airman’s Corner).
(l) A360 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke; from its junction with A344 (Airman’s Corner) in a westerly direction towards Shrewton for a distance of approximately 1 kilometre.
(m) B3086 (Part), Winterbourne Stoke and Shrewton; from its junction with A360/A344 (Airman’s Corner) in a northerly direction to its junction with The Packway (Rollestone Crossroads).
(n) Fargo Road (Part), Durrington; from its junction with the A345 to a point 300m north at Woodhenge.
(o) C42, Stonehenge Road, Amesbury; from its junction with West Amesbury Road to the A303.
(p) A345 (Part), Durrington; from its roundabout junction with A3028 for a distance of approximately 500m in a southerly direction.
These Orders are made to ensure public safety during the period of the Summer Solstice at Stonehenge. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs.
Sections (a) to (j) will come into operation at 08:00hrs on Tuesday 17 June 2025 and is expected to remain in force until 12 noon on Monday 23 June 2025.
Sections (k) to (p) will come into operation at 18:00hrs on Friday 20 June 2025 and is expected to remain in force until 12 noon on Monday 23 June 2025.
The Order for sections (a) – (i) will have a maximum duration of 06 months.
The Orders for sections (j) – (p) will have a maximum duration of 18 months.

The Wiltshire Council East Knoyle 24 (part) Diversion Order and Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2024
Notice is hereby given that the terms of Article 1 in the above order have been satisfied and that both Articles 1 and 2 have come into force. The new highway was certified as being in a fit condition for use by the public on 13 May 2025.
