Northumberland, Temporary Road Closures Due To Surface Dressing & Associated Works

NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) B6318 MILITARY ROAD HOUSESTEADS TO CARROW HAYDON BRIDGE AND B6318 MILITARY ROAD CARROW TO NEW HOUSES HUMSHAUGH (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on the following sections in the County of Northumberland.

Road closures

B6318 Military Road Housesteads To Carrow from its junction with B6318 Military Road Carrow To New Houses heading eastwards for a distance of 4405 metres B6318 Military Road Carrow To New Houses, from its junction with B6318 Military Road Housesteads To Carrow heading westwards for a distance of 3410 metres.

The Order is to be effective from the 24th May 2025 until the 31st October 2025 It is expected that the roads will only be closed from the 24th May until the 29th May 2025 between the hours of 08:00 & 16:00 during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 31st October 2025.

An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via the B6318, A6079, A69, B630 and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council to carry out surface dressings and associated works. In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
