What is happening?

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025

Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 not less than seven days from the date hereof the Highway Authority being satisfied that access to the said footpath should be prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be carried out on or near the footpath.

The effect of the Order, which will come into effect on 2nd June 2025, will be to temporarily close the lengths of footpath specified in the Schedule below at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify highway users of the closure. It is expected that works will be carried out between approximately 2nd June 2025 and 30th June 2025. The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of 6 months, unless extended with approval from the Secretary of State for Transport.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: will be signed via the following footpaths - Newton Walk, Tilery Way, Craister Road.
The diversion route will be signed at the time of closure. 
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.

The Schedule
FOOTPATH TO BE CLOSED: those parts of the following footpaths -

Newton Walk, Stockton 2nd June 2025 - 30th June 2025 

- From its junction with Newton Walk in a southerly direction for a distance of approximately 46 metres.

Temple Court, Stockton 9th June 2025 - 30th June 2025 

- From its junction with Craister Road in a Southerly direction for a distance of approximately 20 metres.
