NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY COUNCIL
(ANIMATING ASHINGTON ONE AMAZING DAY 2025)
TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 16A

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council (“the Council”), in exercise of its powers as the local traffic authority under section 16A of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (“the Act”) and all other enabling powers, has made on the 14th May 2025 the Northumberland County Council (Animating Ashington One Amazing Day 2025) Temporary Traffic Regulation Order 2025 (“the TTRO”).
The Council has made the TTRO for the purposes of facilitating the holding of Animating Ashington One Amazing Day 2025 (“the Event”) by restricting traffic on Station Road being the C399 from it’s junction with the A196 Lintonville Terrace for a distance of 205 metres heading in a westward direction (“Road One”) and the U6507 North View from it’s junction with the C399 Station Road heading in a northward direction for a length of 31 metres (“Road Two”) (“Road One” and “Road Two” shall together be known as the Road).
The TTRO shall come into force at the following times, subject to the provisions of section 16B of the Act:
In respect of Road One, 6:00 hours on the 31st May 2025 and will remain in force until 20:00 hours on the 31st May 2025; and
In respect of Road Two, 10:00 hours on the 31st May 2025 and will remain in force until 19:00 hours on the 31st May 2025.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force via the C399, the U6507, the A197, the A196 and vice versa in Ashington. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
All restrictions on the Road will be sign-posted and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is necessary.
Nothing in the TTRO shall apply to:
a. Any activities taking place on the Road related to the organisation and holding of the Event;
b. Anything done with the permission of, or at the direction of, a police officer or a Duly Authorised Officer of the Council.
c. Any vehicle being used by, or for the purposes of, the emergency services;
d. Any vehicle being used by or for the purposes of a statutory undertaker (e.g. the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which requires vehicles to be brought onto the Road); or
e. Pedestrian access to any premises adjoining the Road.
