What is happening?

AND U6536 ST ANDREWS FOOTWAY ASHINGTON
(TEMPORARY FOOTWAY CLOSURE) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order to prohibit the use by pedestrian traffic on the following sections in the County of Northumberland.
The Order is to be effective from the 26th May 2025 until the 26th July 2025.
Footway Closures
U6536 Rosalind Street St Andrews Footway, Ashington from a point at the front of 25 St Andrews Terrace heading westwards for a distance of 40 metres.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via St Andrews Footway, St Andrews Terrace, Third Avenue, Rosalind Street, Rosalind Street St Andrews Footway and vice-versa. Should the need arise changes may be made to the alternative routes, where possible these changes will be signposted accordingly.
U6536 St Andrews Footway, Ashington from its junction with Ariel Street heading westwards for a distance of 125 metres.
An alternative route will be available for use whilst the TTRO is in force being via Ariel Street, St Andrews Terrace, St Andrews Footway and vice-versa.
It is expected that the footways will only be closed from the 26th May 2025 until the 30th May 2025, the footways will be closed at all times during this period; however, the order will remain in place until 26th July 2025.

The closure has been requested by Advanced Utility Solutions to install ducts for fibre broadband.
In order to minimise future disruption, other contractors may be undertaking works throughout the duration of this Order.
