What is happening?

Somerset Council

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, have made an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: Temporary Road Closures:

SS98/0625 - SD001292 - A372 Langport Road in the parishes of Kingsdon and Long Sutton - A372 Langport Road – from the junction with B3151 Edmonds Hill to the junction with Catsgore Road. A total distance of 1120 metres. 

SS99/0625 - SD001291 - A372 Stephens Hill / Langport Road in the parish of Long Sutton - A372 Stephens Hill / Langport Road – from the junction with B3165 Martock Road to the junction with Vedal Drove and Hermitage Road. A total distance of 1430 metres.

SS100/0625 - SD001290 - A372 Langport Road in the parish of Long Sutton - A372 Langport Road – from the junction with Vedal Drove to the junction with Tengore Lane. A total distance of 375 metres. 

SS101/0625 - SD001290 - A372 Langport Road / Pibsbury in the parishes of Long Sutton and Pitsbury - A372 Langport Road / Pibsbury – from the junction with Tengore Lane to the junction with Windmill Lane (eastern junction). 

A total distance of 1105 metres. SS102/0625 - SD001288 - A372 Pibsbury / Ducks Hill in the parish of Long Sutton and Langport - A372 Pibsbury / Ducks Hill – from the junction with Windmill Lane (Eastern junction) to the junction with Wagg Drove. A total distance of 1220 metres.

SS103/0625 - SD001287 - A372 Langport Road in the parish of Huish Episcopi - A372 Langport Road – from the junction with Wagg Drove to the junction with Hanging Chapel Road. A total distance of 515 metres. 

SS104/0625 - SD001295 - A30 Mount Pleasant / Yeovil Road in the parish of Crewkerne - A30 Mount Pleasant / Yeovil Road – from the junction with Clammer Hill Lane to the junction with Ashlands Road. A total distance of 585 metres.

SS105/0625 - SD001296 - A30 Yeovil Road in the parish of Haselbury Plucknett - A30 Yeovil Road – from the junction with A3066 North Street to the junction with Foxhole Lane. A total distance of 1020 metres.

SS106/0625 - SD001297 - A30 Foxhole Lane to Middle Chinnock / Barrows Hill / Elliotts Hill to Cod Lane in the parish of East Chinnock - A30 Foxhole Lane to Middle Chinnock / Barrows Hill / Elliotts Hill to Cod Lane – from the junction with Foxhole Lane to the junction with Cod Lane. A total distance of 790 metres. 

SS107/0625 - SD001298 - A30 Cod Lane to Broad Lane / Fordhay in the parish of East Chinnock - A30 Cod Lane to Broad Lane / Fordhay – from the junction with Cod Lane to outside property number 6 Fordhay. A total distance of 1180 metres. 

SS120/0625 - SD001302 - Clayhanger Common in the parish of Combe St Nicholas - Clayhanger Common – from the junction with Holemoor Farm Road to the junction with Four Lanes. A total distance of 345 metres.

This Order will enable Somerset Highways to carry out phased prep works, surface dressing, application of Kiely Lock and associated works such as stud removal/renewal and lining works. 

The Order becomes effective on 22nd May 2025 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The phased works are expected to commence any time after 1st June 2025. 

The phased works will be for ONE DAY within the stated period and the road will be reopened when no works are taking place. Please visit www.one.network for further information on the alternative route. 

Please note that should you require to view a closure which is more than two weeks ahead, you will need to register for free with One.Network. 

The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements. Advanced warning signs will be installed 10 days prior to the commencement of works for each closure.

a) because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road; or b) because of the likelihood of danger to the public, or of serious damage to the road, which is not attributable to such works.
