What is happening?
TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF BRIDLEWAYS
THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL (BOTHAMSALL BRIDLEWAY NO.6 AND HAUGHTON BRIDLEWAY NO.6) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION NO.2 ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of “The Nottinghamshire County Council (Bothamsall Bridleway No.6 and Haughton Bridleway No.6) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2024” (which came into force on 26th November 2024 and was continued by a Continuation Order which remains in force until 25th May 2025 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 25th May 2026 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:- No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed, in the following length of Bridleway at Bothamsall and Haughton in the District of Bassetlaw
Bothamsall Bridleway No.6 continuing as Haughton Bridleway No.6, between Bothamsall Road (South) and where it meets with Walesby Bridleway No.1 and No.8.
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route available on public bridleways.
If the works are not completed within the above period the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport.
The prohibition is required to protect public safety following damage from flooding on the bridleway.
