KIRKLEES COUNCIL (TRAFFIC REGULATION)
(CONSOLIDATION ORDER PROVIDING ON-STREET PARKING PLACES, WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS AND MIGRATION TO A ‘MAP-BASED’ FORMAT) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO. 11) ORDER 2025
NORTHUMBERLAND STREET, HUDDERSFIELD

The Council of the Borough of Kirklees propose to make the above Order under their powers in the Road Traffc Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which, as it affects a length of road in the Huddersfeld area of the Kirklees district, will be to amend the Kirklees Council (Traffc Regulation) (Consolidation Order Providing On-Street Parking Places, Waiting, Loading And Stopping Restrictions and Migration to a ‘Map-Based’ Format) Order 2024 so as to:

• Prohibit the waiting at any time on a length of Northumberland Street, Huddersfeld, between Byram Street and Lord Street

REASON: This scheme is as part of the Huddersfeld TCF regeneration of the town centre to improve pedestrian and cycle infrastructure going into the town centre and rail station. The introduction of double yellow lines in place of some existing parking bays on Northumberland Street is intended to improve traffc fow, enhance safety, and deter illegal or obstructive parking. By preventing vehicles from stopping in these areas, the double yellow lines will help maintain clear sightlines for drivers and pedestrians, reducing potential conficts and improving road safety.

The restrictions will help keep key areas free from obstruction, contributing to a safer and more effcient road network.

A copy of this draft Order, together with the plan showing the affected lengths of road and a detailed statement of reasons for proposing the Order may be inspected at:-

• Online: http://www.kirklees.gov.uk/traffcregulation
• By emailing highways.TRO@kirklees.gov.uk
