Sandwell Area - Multiple Temporary Road Restrictions

SANDWELL METROPOLITAN BOROUGH COUNCIL
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Newbury Lane, Oldbury) (Temporary
One-Way Operation) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles
from proceeding along Newbury Lane other than in a northerly direction
between A4123 Wolverhampton Road and the access road to Portway
Lifestyle Centre. A diversion route for southbound traffic will be signed via
A4123 Wolverhampton Road, Birchley Island, Birchfield Lane, Throne Road
& Newbury Lane. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is
expected to commence and be completed by 01/06/25. Hours of operation
– 9am to 5pm only. Purpose – to facilitate the installation of a new

The Borough Council of Sandwell (Newton Road, Great Barr (Temporary
No Right Turn Restriction) and (Queslett Road, Great Barr) (Temporary
No Left Turn Restriction) Order 2025 intends to temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding via a right turning movement from Newton Road to Walsall Road and a left turning movement from Queslett Road to Walsall Road. Traffic will be diverted via Queslett Road (westbound), Birmingham Road (northbound) to the M6 junction 7 roundabout, Birmingham Road (southbound) Queslett Road (eastbound), Queslett Road East, Chester Road North, Chester Road, College Road, Aldridge Road and Harrier Way. The maximum duration is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 31/05/2025 (4am) effective from 30/05/2025 (9pm). Purpose – to facilitate access for the re-cutting of traffic signal vehicle detection loops by Roadway UK TM Ltd on behalf of Transport for West Midlands.
The Borough Council of Sandwell (Station Road, Titford Road and
Trinity Street, Oldbury) (Temporary Road Closures) and (Broad Street
to Trinity Street) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2025 intends to
temporarily prohibit vehicles from proceeding along Station Road, Titford
Road and Trinity Street as detailed below. Access to any affected frontages
within the road closures will be maintained, but only when safety permits:
Trinity Street – closed between the junctions of Park Lane to Station Road
(2nd - 8th June 2025). Traffic will be diverted via Crosswells Road, Vicarage
Road, Tat Bank Road, Western Road and vice versa. Station Road – closed
from the junction of Trinity Street for a distance of 30 metres (2nd - 8th June
2025). Traffic will be diverted as above. Station Road – closed from the
junction of Trinity Street for a distance of 35 metres (9th - 23rd June 2025).
Traffic will be diverted via Crosswells Road, Vicarage Road, Joinings Bank,
New Henry Street, Langley Green Road, Langley High Street, Broad Street
and Titford Road. Trinity Street – closed between the junctions of Titford
Road and Station Road (9th - 23rd June 2025). Traffic will be diverted as
above. Titford Road – closed from the gable end of property No.41 to the
junction with Park Lane (23rd June - 7th July 2025). The order intends
to temporarily prohibit pedestrians from proceeding along the link footpath
leading from Broad Street to Trinity Street, which will be closed (9th - 29th
June 2025). A pedestrian diversion route will be signed via Whyley Walk,
Station Road and vice versa. The maximum duration for the phased closures
is 18 months but the work is expected to be completed by 07/07/2025
effective from 02/06/2025 (24hr). Purpose – to facilitate access for gas
