What is happening?

THE CITY OF EDINBURGH COUNCIL

(PORTOBELLO HIGH STREET) (NO.2)
(TEMPORARY ROAD
RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION)
ORDER 2025 – TEMP/25/69

The Council has made an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, to facilitate a safe working area for cabling and joint bay works, no person shall: (a) drive or cause or permit any vehicle to be driven on both sides of: (i) St Mark’s Pl, from the south-west kerbline of Portobello High St (Abercorn Ter), south-westwards to the north-east kerbline of Argyle Cres; (ii) Hope La N from the south-west kerbline of Portobello High St, south-westwards for a distance of 20m; and (iii) Windsor Pl from the south-west kerbline of Portobello High St, south-westwards for a distance of 20m; & (b) except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait or load onto or unload from any vehicle at any time on both sides of: (i) Abercorn Ter (Portobello High St), from a point 35m south-east of the south-east kerbline of St Mark’s Pl, north-westwards to a point 25m north-west of the north-west kerbline of St Mark’s Pl; (ii) Portobello High St, B6415, from a point 26m north-west of the north-west kerbline of St Mark’s Pl, northwards to the extended southeast building line of 44 to 60 Portobello High St; and (iii) St Mark’s Pl, from the south-west kerbline of Portobello High St (Abercorn Ter), south-westwards to the north-east kerbline of Argyle Cres. Existing parking restrictions will be suspended on the affected sections of roads described. The alternative route for vehicles is: (i) St Mark’s Pl – St Mark’s Pl, Argyle Cres, St Mary’s Pl and Abercorn Ter; (ii) Hope La Nth – Hope La Nth, St Mark’s Pl and Portobello High St; and (iii) Windsor Pl – Windsor Pl, Hope La N, St Mark’s Pl and Portobello High St.

The order shall have effect from 26/5/25 to 30/9/25.
