What is happening?

WAKEFIELD COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 –
SECTION 14
(PETERSON ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 122) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for new connection, excavate & locate cable, joint new cable & reinstate excavations to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Peterson Road, Wakefield for approximately 150 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Peterson Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Marsh Way, Upper Warrengate, Peterson Road & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 24th May 2025 to 1st June 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(FOOTPATH WAKEFIELD 86, SANDAL)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE)
ORDER (NO 123) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for complete footpath resurfacing and install street lighting to be carried out on or near Footpath Wakefield 86, Sandal for 70 metres between Finch Avenue and Linnet Grove, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, has made an Order the effect of which is that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians: Via the footpath to the side of No. 14 Finch Avenue to No.15 Linnet Grove & vice versa.

The order comes into operation on 27th May 2025 to 27th June 2025

(HINCHCLIFFE AVENUE, OSSETT)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 124) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield has made an Order on traffic management grounds for gas connection works to be carried out as follows:

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Hinchcliffe Avenue, Ossett for approximately 16 metres. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Hinchcliffe Avenue.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Hinchcliffe Avenue, Queens Drive & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 27th May 2025 to 1st June 2025, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(SHAY LANE, WALTON)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 130) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds for safe installation of new bridge height restriction signage to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Shay Lane, Walton at the rail bridge between Bridge Gate Farm and Goldwing Farm. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Shay Lane.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: Shay Lane, Greenside, Oakenshaw Lane, Neil Fox Way, Doncaster Road, Lodge Lane, The Avenue, Harrison Road, Shay Lane & vice versa.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 9th June 2025 at 22.00 hours to 10th June 2025 at 06.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.

Access to the premises on the closed length of road will be maintained whenever possible.

(HOLLIN LANE, CRIGGLESTONE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE)
ORDER (NO 133) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield by reason of works to allow for fuse upgrade to be carried out on or near Hollin Lane, Crigglestone, and the likelihood of danger arising to the public, intend not less than 7 days from the date of this notice to make an Order the effect of which will be that no person shall proceed in the length of public footpath.

Alternative route for pedestrians: N/A.

The order comes into operation on 9th June 2025

(LEEDS ROAD, WAKEFIELD)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
ORDER (NO 134) 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Wakefield intend to make an Order on traffic management grounds to repair blocked duct in the carriageway for customer’s connection to be carried out as follows:-

ROAD TO BE CLOSED: Leeds Road, Wakefield. The Order shall also have the effect of closing any roads at their junctions the closed length of Leeds Road.

ALTERNATIVE ROUTES: N/A.

PERIOD OF CLOSURE: From and including 10th June 2025 at 08.00 hours to 12th June 2025 at 18.00 hours, or until completion of the works, whichever is sooner.
