F1480 Yewdale, Skelmersdale - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic For New Connection Installation Works

What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(F1480 YEWDALE, SKELMERSDALE, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.

1. No person shall cause any pedestrian to proceed over the following lengths of highway in the West Lancashire Borough:-

i. F1480 Yewdale, Skelmersdale from the western boundary of property number 34 to the eastern boundary at the rear of property number 20.

ii. F1480 Yewdale, Skelmersdale from the southern boundary at the rear of property number 26 to the southern boundary of property number 34.

2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.

3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours on Wednesday 4th June 2025 until 1700 hours on Tuesday 10th June 2025 or until completion of the works within this period. Access for emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.

4. Vehicular access for residents will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.

5. An alternative route for pedestrian traffic affected by the closure is via:-

F1480 Yewdale, Skelmersdale – U576 Yewdale, Skelmersdale – F1480 Yewdale, Skelmersdale and vice versa.

The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow new connection installation works for a car charging point to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of Electricity North West.
