What is happening?

SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL
(STOPPING RESTRICTIONS, WAITING RESTRICTIONS, LOADING
RESTRICTIONS AND PARKING PLACES)(MAP SCHEDULE) ORDER 2024 (AMENDMENT NO.12) ORDER 2025

SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL
(CONTROLLED ZONE)(PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND ONE-WAY TRAFFIC)(CONSOLIDATION) ORDER 1987 (AMENDMENT NO.55) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 22 May 2025 Sheffield City Council made the above Orders which come into operation on 27 May 2025 under the provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce:

No stopping at all times except for taxis on part of Burgess Street;
No stopping, 6:30pm-6:00am except for taxis on part of Burgess Street;
No loading, 6:00am-6:30pm on part of Burgess Street;
No waiting, 6:00am-6:30pm on part of Burgess Street;
No stopping except for dropping off and picking up, maximum stay 10 minutes on part of Burgess Street;
Voucher parking at all times on part of Burgess Street;
Loading bay at all times on part of Burgess Street;
One way traffic on part of Burgess Street;

And remove:

No waiting at any time on part of Burgess Street;
No loading at any time on part of Burgess Street;
No waiting at any time except for taxis on part of Burgess Street;
No waiting 6:30pm-6:00am except for taxis on parts of Burgess Street;
No loading Monday to Saturday 8:00am-6:30pm on part of Burgess Street;
Pay and display parking bay 8:00am-6:30pm on part of Burgess Street;

A copy of the Orders may be examined during normal opening hours at First Point Reception, Howden House, 1 Union Street, Sheffield, S1 2SH or within the Sealed Traffic Orders section on the Council website at

Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders or any of their
provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the enabling Act or that a requirement of the enabling Act or any of the relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with may, within six weeks of 27 May 2025 make application for that purpose to the High Court.
