Garstang Road - Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over that length of B5272 Garstang Road, Cockerham from Crookhey Hall School for a distance of approximately 400 metres in a south easterly direction.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative daily between 0930 hours and 1530 hours from Tuesday 27th May 2025 until Wednesday 28th May 2025 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Vehicular access for residents and emergency services will be maintained whenever and wherever possible. Pedestrian access to properties will always be maintained.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
B5272 Garstang Road – Cockerham Road – A6 Lancaster Road – Ratcliffe Wharf Lane – B5272 Park Lane and vice vesra.
A traffic management operative will be on site to aid traffic joining the A6 Lancaster Road from Cockerham Road should assistance be required.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow safe access to carriageway boxes, cabling, desilting works and pole testing works to be carried out on behalf of Openreach.
