What is happening?
North Yorkshire Council, Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking, Amendment No 60, Order 2025
Notice is hereby given that on 16/05/25 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2), 32(1) & 35(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act & under the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which is to amend “North Yorkshire County Council (Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking) (District of Selby) Consolidation Order 2013” by introducing the restrictions specified in the tables below:- Schedule 1 - Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking Except For Taxis Selby, Micklegate, South East side from a point 6m West of junction Wren Lane for 18m South East - Area of carriageway reserved for taxis between 6pm & 8am Schedule 2 - Prohibition of Waiting & Loading & Provision of Parking Selby, Micklegate, South East side from a point 6m West of junction Wren Lane for 18m South East - Parking – 20minutes no return within 1 hour Schedule 3 - Loading/Unloading Only At All Times Selby, Market Lane, North side from a point 8.5 metres West of the junction with James Street to 15m West. Selby, Market Lane, North side from a point 30 metres West of the junction with James Street to 11m West. A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 26/05/25, together with a map showing the roads affected may be examined at County Hall, Northallerton & at Selby Library, 52 Micklegate, Selby YO8 4EQ during normal office hours from 22/05/25 to 27/06/25 & also viewed online at

If you wish to question the validity of the above Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any Instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within 6 weeks of 16/05/25 make application to the High Court for the purpose.
