Suffolk - Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C661 BURY ROAD AND THE U7056 LADYS GREEN, OUSDEN

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads to facilitate utility works:

  • The C661 Bury Road, Ousden from the junction with Dunstall Green Road for 270 metres southbound

  • The U7056 Ladys Green, Ousden from the junction with the Bury Road for 40 metres southbound

This is to facilitate works to remove overhead lines and poles. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Dunstall Green Road, Dunstall Green, Chevington Road, the road from the C669 to the B1063, Barrow Road, Thurlow Road, Barrow Hill, Barrow, B1063 Bury Road, Wickhambrook Road, Ousden Road, Lady’s Green Road.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/05/2025 - 21/05/2025 from 9am - 4pm but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC THE PORT OF THE U4800 CHARLES STREET, U4801 CLAUDE STREET AND THE U4307 SERVICE ROAD BETWEEN HIGH STREET AND THE U4307/3 FITZROY STREET, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the following roads:

  • U4800 Charles Street, Ipswich from Fitzroy Street to Woodbridge Road

  • U4801 Claude Street

  • U4307/3 Service Road Ipswich from Fitzroy Street to High Street

This is to facilitate access to an overhead structure. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via Berners Road, High Street, Charles Street with no vice versa.

The one-way direction on the U4800 will be subject to a suspension for the duration of this closure.

The closure/diversion route will be above and as signed on site.

  • U4800 Charles Street, Ipswich from Fitzroy Street to High Street

  • U4801 Claude Street

  • U4307/3 Service Road between High Street from Charles Street to Fitzroy Street

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20:00hrs on 21st June 2025 - 23rd June 2025 at 6:30pm on 23rd June 2025 but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C408 SAXHAM STREET, STOWLANGTOFT

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C408 Saxham Street, Stowlangtoft from Avenue Road for 20 metres northbound to facilitate alternative water works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via Avenue Road, the B1115, Onehouse Road, Union Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 23/05/2025 from 7am to 7:30am but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C323 THE STREET, GRUNDISBURGH

Suffolk County Council intends to make an order closing the C323 The Street, Grundisburgh from the junction with The Green for 40 metres southbound to facilitate a new water connection.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via Ipswich Road, Woodbridge Road, Lower Road, Boulge Road, Clopton Road, B1079 Chapel Road, Grundisburgh Road, Grundisburgh Hill, Woodbridge Road, Ipswich Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate on 25/06/2025 from 9:30am – 3:30pm but if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
