What is happening?

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
COMMON LANE, BROOMFLEET
AND COMMON ROAD, SOUTH CAVE
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has made an Order the effect of which is to prohibit any person from causing any vehicle to proceed/from proceeding along part of Common Lane, Broomfleet and the entire length of Common Road, South Cave between the junctions with Wallingfen Lane and Ellerker Lane commencing 13 June 2025 until 18 June 2025 between 08.00 hours until 18.00 hours weekdays only. The reason for the closure is to enable the proposed excavation works to link into the existing telecoms larger fibre network on Common Lane, Broomfleet and the entire length of Common Road, South Cave to be carried out and completed in a manner consistent with ensuring the safety of the public. It is anticipated that the works will be completed within six days.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the Order is via Common Road, Ellerker Lane, Water Lane, West End, Ferry Road, Sand Lane, Station Road, Eastfield, Westgate, B1230 Newport Road, Main Road and Wallingfen Lane, Broomfleet CP, South Cave CP, North Cave CP, Newport CP, Howdenshire Ward, Dale Ward. The road will be closed to all through traffic but access will be maintained for residents, emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
The Order will commence 13 June 2025 and continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
