What is happening?

SUFFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U2048 FLETCHER ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U2048 Fletcher Road, Ipswich from no. 15 for 20 metres westbound to facilitate communication pipe repairs. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Goldsmith Road, Romney Road, Morland Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 21/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE C638 MARKET WESTON ROAD, THENETHAM

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C638 Market Weston Road, Thenetham from 50 metres east of the junction with Newhoprd Road for 50 metres westbound to facilitate remedial works from a previous leaking water main. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Market Weston Road, Wattisfield Road, Gobbetts Lane, Tuffen Lane, Hopton Road, Thelnetham Road, the B1111, The Street, New Common Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 21/05/2025 from 9am - 5pm, but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF THE A1189 NACTON ROAD AND RANSOMES WAY AND U2095 BLUESTONE ROAD AND THE A1156 FELIXSTOWE ROAD, STAR LANE, GRIMWADE STREET, BISHOPS HILL, FORE HAMLET AND ROSEHILL ROAD, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

• A1189 Nacton Road, Ipswich from Ravenswood Avenue to Ransomes Europark

• A1189 Ransomes Way, Ipswich from Nacton Road to James Bennett Avenue

• U2095 Bluestone Road, Ipswich from the A1189 Nacton Road to Foxhall Road.

This is to facilitate replacing road markings. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion routes will be:

• the A1189, the A1156 and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the 7.5 tonne weight restriction on the:

• A1156 Felixstowe Road, Ipswich

• A1156 Star Lane, Ipswich

• A1156 Grimwade Street, Ipswich

• A1156 Bishops Hill, Ipswich

• A1156 Fore Hamlet, Ipswich

• A1156 Rose Hill, Ipswich

• A1189 Nacton Road, Ipswich.

It is intended that these measures will operate from 20/05/2025 – 22/05/2025 from 10pm - 5am, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5303 BIRKFIELD DRIVE, IPSWICH

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5303 Birkfield Drive, Ipswich from 145 metres south east of the junction with Felsham Road for 40 metres southbound to facilitate a new connection. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Felsham Road, Rands Way, Stoke Park Drive and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 30/05/2025, but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A1214 HADLEIGH ROAD AND FROM THE B1076 TO THE A134 NEWTON TO THE A1214 IPSWICH, SPROUGHTON

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

• A1214 Hadleigh Road, Ipswich from Swan Hill to the roundabout.

• The B1076 from the roundabout to the A134 Newton Road.

This is to facilitate replacing road markings.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via the A1214 Ipswich Road, Sproughton from Hadleigh Road, across the roundabout and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 20/05/2025 from 8pm - 6am, but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE AND SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY TRAFFIC ON PART OF THE U4555 TAKERS LANE, STOWMARKET

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U4555 Takers Lane, Stowmarket from its junction with Ipswich Road for 45 metres west southbound to facilitate underground electrical service works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Ipswich Road, Bridges Street, Takers Lane and vice versa.

For the duration of this closure there will be a suspension of the one-way provision on the U4555 Takers Lane from no. 16 Bridge Street to no. 1 Takers Lane.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 22/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion route will be Nowton Road, Cooper Lane, Hawstead Road, Bury Road, Nowton Road, the A1302 Cullum Road, the A134 Southgate Green, the A134 Sicklesmere Road, the A134 Bury Road, the A134 Sudbury Road, the A131 Bury Road, the A131 The Street, the A134 Main Road, the A134 Toth Road to the St Edmundsbury borough boundary, the A134 Sudbury Road, the A134 New Green, the A134 Bridge Street, the A1092 High Street, the A1092 Westgate Street, the A1092 Hall Hill, the B1066 Garmour Hill, the B1066 from A1092 to C863, the B1066 Lower Street, Whepstead Road, Upper Street, Shimpling Road, Stanstead Road, Melford Road, Bury Road, The Green, The Pound and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2025 from 9.30am - 3.30pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the C765 Crown Street, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Churchgate Street for 40 metres south bound to facilitate duct works. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Parkway Street, Westgate Street, the A1302, Parkway-Tayfen Road, St. Andrews Street North and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 18/05/2025 – 20/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U5195 SKINNER STREET, BURY ST EDMUNDS

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the U5195 Skinner Street, Bury St Edmunds from the junction with Looms Lane to Whiting Street for 30 metres to facilitate cleaning and inspections. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Looms Lane, Abbeygate Street to facilities.

It is intended that the closure will operate on the 18/05/2025 from 2pm - 4pm but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE OF PART OF THE A1141 STOKE ROAD, POLSTEAD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the A1141 Stoke Road, Polstead from its junction with the A1071 to its junction with the C744.

This is to facilitate carriageway repairs.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be via the A1141, the A134, the A131, the A134, the A1071 and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 30/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF PART OF THE U7433 CHAPEL ROAD, BRADFIELD COMBUST AND STANNINGFIELD

Suffolk County Council has made an order closing the following roads:

• U7433 Chapel Road, Bradfield Combust from the junction with the A134 to Bradfield St Clare

• U7433 Chapel Road, Stanningfield from Bradfield Methodist Church to the junction with Maynes Close

This is to lay cabling. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists.

The diversion route will be Main Road, The Street, Bury Road, Sudbury Road, Stanningfield Road, Maynes Close and vice versa.

It is intended that the closures will operate from 20/05/2025 – 03/06/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion route will be Albert Street, Risbygate Street, Parkway North and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 20/05/2025 – 21/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

The diversion route will be Norton Road, Ixworth Road, The Street and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 16/06/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

This is to lay ducting in preparation for new housing development. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

It is intended that the closures will operate from 19/05/2025 – 13/06/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).

This is to install new gullies to a sluice valve. Other co-ordinated works may also take place during this period.

The diversion route will be Grundisburgh Road, Rose Hill, The Street, the B1079 Grundisburgh Road and vice versa.

It is intended that the closure will operate from 19/05/2025 – 21/05/2025 but, if necessary, the order may remain in force for 18 months (or longer if extended by the Minister).
