CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INSTALL
A RAISED TOUCAN CROSSING ON TODDINGTON ROAD, HARLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Section 90 A-I of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, proposes to establish a Raised Toucan crossing on Toddington Road, Harlington. These proposals are part of a scheme to reduce traffic speeds, improve pedestrian facilities and create a safer environment for all road users.
A Raised Toucan Crossing at a nominal height of 75mm and approximately 6 metres long, not including ramps, extending across the full width of the road is proposed to be sited at the following location in Harlington:-
1. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 39 metres southeast of the centre of the junction with Bushby Close.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE NEW AND AMEND EXISTING WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN AND AROUND TODDINGTON ROAD AND STATION ROAD, HARLINGTON
Reason for proposal: For avoiding danger to persons or other traffic and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising and for facilitating the passage of traffic on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).
Effect of the Order:
To introduce No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Harlington:-
1. Bushby Close, both sides, from the junction with Toddington Road and extending in a northeasterly direction into the close for approximately 12 metres.
2. Station Road, south side, from the junction with the access to the new development and extending in a northeasterly direction for approximately 5 metres.
3. Station Road, south side, from a point 18 metres west of the centre of the junction with Wentworth Court and extending in a south westerly direction for approximately 11 metres.
4. S tation Road, south side, from a point 7 metres west of the centre of the junction with Wentworth Court and extending in a south westerly direction for approximately 6 metres.
To amend No Waiting at any time on the following lengths of road in Harlington to suit a revised kerbline:-
1. Station Road, north side, from a point in line with the centre of the junction with Harlington Station Car Park and extending in an easterly direction for approximately 10 metres.
2. Station Road, south side, from the junction with Harlington Station Car Park and extending in an easterly direction for approximately 5 metres.
3. Toddington Road, northeast side, from a point in line with the centre of the junction with Harlington Station Car Park and extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 55 metres.
4. Toddington Road, southwest side, from the junction with Harlington Station Car Park and extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 77 metres.
5. Toddington Road, northeast side, from a point approximately 74 metres from a point in line with the centre of the junction with Harlington Station Car Park and extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 10 metres.
6. Toddington Road, south-west side, from the junction with Bushby Close and extending in a south-easterly direction for approximately 12 metres.
7. Toddington Road, north-east side, from the junction with Bushby Close and extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 152 metres.
8. Station Road, south side, from a point approximately 5 metres east of the junction with Harlington Station Car Park and extending in an easterly direction for approximately 34 metres, ending at the junction with the access to the new development.
9. Station Road, north side, from a point approximately 29 metres east of the junction with Harlington Station Car Park and extending in an easterly direction for approximately metres 74 metres, up to the junction with Wentworth Court.
10.Station Road, north side, from the junction with Wentworth Court and extending in a north easterly direction for approximately 25 metres.

TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES ON TODDINGTON ROAD AND
STATION ROAD, HARLINGTON
Notice is hereby given that Central Bedfordshire Council, in exercise of its powers under Section 90 A-I of the Highways Act 1980 and all other enabling powers, propose to construct Raised Tables, Speed Cushions and a Priority Narrowing on Toddington Road and Station Road, Harlington. These proposals are part of a package of works to reduce traffic speeds and create a safer environment for all road users.
A Raised Table at a nominal height of 75mm and approximately 6 metres long, not including ramps, extending across the full width of the road whilst leaving a channel for drainage at the kerb edges is proposed to be sited at the following locations in Harlington:-
5. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 288 metres west of the centre of the junction with Ashbury Mead.
6. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 190 metres west of the centre of the junction with Ashbury Mead.
7. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 113 metres west of the centre of the junction with Ashbury Mead.
8. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 32 metres northwest of the centre of the junction with Bushby Close.
9. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 116 metres southeast of the centre of the junction with Bushby Close.
To introduce a pair of Speed Cushions, each at a nominal height of 75mm, a length of approximately 2.5 metres, including ramps and a width of approximately 1.65m are proposed to be sited at the following locations in Harlington:-
1. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 23 metres west of the centre of the junction with Ashbury Mead.
2. Toddington Road, centred at a point approximately 45 metres east of the centre of the junction with Ashbury Mead.
A Priority Narrowing, comprising a kerbed island approximately 4 metres long on the south side of the road (traffic proceeding west will be required to give way to opposing traffic) is proposed to be sited at the following location in Harlington:
1. Station Road, approximately 5.5 metres west of the centre of the junction with Wentworth Court.

INTRODUCE 20MPH AND 30MPH SPEED LIMITS ON
TODDINGTON ROAD AND STATION ROAD, HARLINGTON
Reason for proposal: The speed limits are intended to reduce the speed of traffic entering and leaving the newly built-up area and are being promoted in combination with other speed reducing measures.
Effect of the Order:
To introduce a 20mph Speed Limit on the following length of road in Harlington:-
1. Station Road, from the junction with Westoning Road, Sundon Road and Church Road and extending in a south westerly direction for approximately 231 metres.
2. Toddington Road, from a point 231 metres south-werst of the junction with Westoning Road, Sundon Road and Church Road and extending in a north-westerly direction for approximately 123 metres.
To introduce a 30mph Speed Limit on the following length of road in Harlington:-
3. Toddington Road, from a point approximately 384 metres northeast of its junction with Harlington Road roundabout and extending in a easterly direction before following the curvature of the road southeast for a total of approximately 722 metres.
