NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Park View, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 21st July 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Park View, Ashton-in-Makerfield commencing on 21st July 2025 to 1st August 2025.

Please note there is no alternative route available.

The Order is necessary to allow Gas Mains Replacement.

(Flora Street, Ashton-In-Makerfield)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Flora Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 28th July 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Flora Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield commencing on 28th July 2025 to 8th August 2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Warrington Road, Violet Street and Windsor Road.

The Order is necessary to allow Gas Mains Replacement.

(Walthew House Lane, Wigan)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Walthew House Lane, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 23rd June 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Walthew House Lane, Wigan commencing on 23rd June 2025 to 6th July 2025

The alternative route for traffic is: Challenge Way, Scot Lane, Marsh

Green, Kitt Green Road and Eccles Road

The Order is necessary to allow a Sewer Connection

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (Violet Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 11th August 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Violet Street, Ashton-in-Makerfield commencing on 11th August 2025 to 28th August 2025.

Please note there is no alternative route available.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (St Aubyns Road, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 27th July 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in St Aubyns Road, Wigan commencing on 27th July 2025 to 1st August 2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Somerville Road, St Clements Road and Wigan Lane.

The Order is necessary to allow Gas Mains Replacement

(Hawthorn Avenue, Orrell)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Hawthorn Avenue, Orrell) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Hawthorn Avenue, Orrell commencing on 20th June 2025 between the hours of 09:30am and 17:00pm

Please note there is no alternative route available. Access will be maintained where possible.

The Order is necessary to allow Install of a new Pole.

(St Clements Road, Wigan)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025 Notice of Making

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant

Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of Wigan Borough

Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council has made the Wigan Borough (St Clements Road, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025 which will come into operation on 27th July 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in St Clements Road, Wigan commencing on 27th July 2025 to 1st August 2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Whitley Crescent, Sittingbourne Road and Wigan Lane.

The Order is necessary to allow Gas Mains Replacement.

(Darlington Street, Wigan)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Darlington Street, Wigan) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Darlington Street, Wigan commencing on 21st June 2025 to 22nd June.

The alternative route for traffic is: Chapel Lane, Queen Street,

Wallgate, Caroline Street, Chapel Lane and Riverway

The Order is necessary to allow a New Water Connection

(Simpkin Street, Abram)

(Temporary Closure) Order 2025

Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Assistant Director Infrastructure and Regulatory Services of the Wigan Borough Council in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and delegated to her by the said Council proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Simpkin Street, Abram) (Temporary Closure) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person from driving a vehicle or causing or permitting a vehicle to be driven in Simpkin Street, Abram commencing on 28th July 2025 to 20th August 2025.

The alternative route for traffic is: Warrintgon Road, Bickershaw Lane

and Keats Way

The Order is necessary to allow Gas Mains Replacement.

Nicol Road, Bryn with Ashton-In-Makerfield – Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting Notice of Proposals

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Wigan Borough Council, in exercise of the powers under Section 1, 2, 3 and 4 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 of the Act 1984, proposes to make the Wigan Borough (Decriminalisation of Parking) (Various Roads in Wigan Borough) (Traffic Regulation Consolidation) Order 2004 (Amendment No.606) Order 2025.

The effect of the Order will be to revoke no waiting at any time on:

•    Nicol Road, Bryn with Ashton-in-Makerfield (North side) from its junction with Wigan Road for a distance of 15 metres in as easterly direction

The effect of the Order will be to introduce no waiting at any time on:

•    Nicol Road, Bryn with Ashton-in-Makerfield (North side) from its junction with Wigan Road for a distance of 49 metres in an easterly direction

The effect of the Order will be to revoke restricted waiting at:

•    Nicol Road, Bryn with Ashton-in-Makerfield (North side) from a point 15 metres east of its junction with Wigan Road for a

distance of 135metres in an easterly direction on any Saturday and Sunday 8am - 8pm

The effect of the Order will be to introduce restricted waiting at:

•    Nicol Road, Bryn with Ashton-in-Makerfield (North side) from a point 49 metres east of its junction with Wigan Road for a

distance of 86 metres in an easterly direction on any Saturday and Sunday 8am - 8pm

There will be limited exceptions permitting vehicles to wait to enable people to board or alight; for the purpose of building and similar operations, removing obstructions to traffic, road works and works by statutory undertakers; for local authority, Water Companies and Post Office purposes; if the vehicles are fire service or police vehicles or ambulances, (liveried vehicles) or in connection with a funeral; to take on fuel, water or air at any garage; for the delivery or collection of goods and for loading or unloading; or the avoidance of an accident.

The Order also provides that if any vehicle is left in any road or length of road affected by the Order in contravention of any provision of the Order a penalty charge (in the amount set by the Council) shall be payable and/or the vehicle may be removed.

A copy of the proposed Order, the Order to be amended, and of the relevant map and of a statement of the reasons for proposing to make the Order may be requested by emailing s.eccles-churton@wigan.gov.uk. Any objection to the Order must be made in writing and specify the grounds thereof and must be made to the Assistant Director – Legal, Governance and Elections, Legal, Governance and Elections Division, Wigan Council, Town Hall, Library Street, Wigan, WN1 1YN or by emailing the above email address quoting reference
