Wiltshire, Multiple Roads, Temporary Restrictions Due To Various Works
What is happening?
SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
A) UC 826001 (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its junction with B3105 for a distance of approximately 35m in a south easterly direction to enable NBC Contracting Ltd to carry out temporary access and associated works. Alternative route via UC 826001 (unaffected length) – B3105 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 June 2025 and the closure will be required until 06 November 2025. B) A361 (Part), Hilperton and Semington; from its junction of junction with C393 to its roundabout junction with High Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, road markings, ironworks and associated works. Alternative route via A361 (unaffected length) – A350 – A363 – A361 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 23:59 for 4 days. C) West Parade (Part), Warminster; from its junction with Factory Lane to its property known as No.37 West Parade to enable Openreach to carry out poling and associated works. Alternative route via West Parade (unaffected length) – Sambourne Road – Silver Street – Vicarage Street – Pound Street – West Parade (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. D) C155 (Part), Lacock; from outside its property known as Mead Farm for a distance of approximately 400m in a north westerly direction to enable Wales & West Utilities to carry out repairs to valve cover and associated works. Alternative route via C155 (unaffected length) – Hither Way – Melksham Road – A350 – A3102 – C165 – C155 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:00 for 1 day. E) B3107 (Part), Bradford on Avon, South Wraxall and Holt; from its junction with Cemetery Lane to its junction with B3105 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing and associated works. Alternative route via B3105 – B3109 – B3107 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 for 1 night. Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:
F) Smallbrook Lane (Part), Warminster; from its junction with B3414 to its property known as No.23 Smallbrook Lane to enable Wale and West Utilities to carry out new connection and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 20 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 23 May 2025. G) C159 (Part), Lacock; from outside its property known as No.38 Notton Park for a distance of approximately 100m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out excavation works and other associated works. Alternative route via C159 (unaffected length) – A4 – A350 – C159 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 3 days. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023.
H) Leigh Grove (Part), Bradford on Avon; from its property known as Chards Barn to its property known as Groveside to enable Openreach to carry out pole replacement and associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and the closure will be required on weekdays only between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. Orders A) to C) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order D) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Traffic Management Act 2004, the effect of which will be as follows:
Order 1 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Melksham and Melksham Without) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Taxi Rank Clearways and On Street Parking) Consolidation Order 2019 (with Amendment Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), to re-enact it in the above Order 1 and introduce new Map Schedule Nos. DR36, ED37, EH37, EI35 and EJ35 the effect of which will be a) To introduce No Waiting at any time on Avro Way, Melksham Without – south side – from a point 15 metres east of its junction with Lysander Road for its entire length including the southern turning head;
Barnes Wallis Close, Melksham Without – both sides – from its junction with Mitchell Drive for a distance of 12 metres in a southerly direction;
Canal Bridge, Melksham Without – east side –
i) from the mid-point of the Canal Bridge (the parish boundary) for a distance of 70 metres in a northerly direction
ii) from a point 96 metres north of the mid-point of the Canal Bridge (the parish boundary) for a distance of 12 metres in a northerly direction

b) To remove No Waiting Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm and replace with Parking Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm 20 minutes No return within 1 hour on Forest Road, Melksham – south east side – from a point 28 metres north of its junction with Awdry Avenue for a distance of 10 metres in a north easterly direction
c) To remove Parking Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm 2 hours No return within 2 hours and replace with No Waiting at any time on Union Street, Melksham – north side – from a point 10 metres east of its junction with A3102 Bath Road for a distance of 5 metres in a north easterly direction.
Order 2 – To revoke The County of Wiltshire (Parishes of West Wiltshire) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting, Prohibition of Stopping, On Street Parking and Clearways) Consolidation Order 2019 (with Amendment Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5), to re-enact it in the above Order and introduce new Map Schedule Nos. EJ35 the effect of which will be a) To introduce No Waiting at any time on Canal Bridge, Semington – east side – from the mid-point of the Canal Bridge (the parish boundary) for a distance of 50 metres in a southerly direction;
Canal Bridge, Semington – west side – from the mid-point of the Canal Bridge (the parish boundary) for a distance of 141 metres in a southerly direction.
