What is happening?

LOCAL AUTHORITIES’ TRAFFIC ORDERS (PROCEDURE) (ENGLAND AND
WALES) REGULATIONS 1996 as amended.
THE CHORLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL
(OFF-STREET PARKING PLACES, CHORLEY)
VARIATION ORDER 2025

Notice is hereby given that under the powers contained in Section 35 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, Chorley Borough Council (“the council”) proposes to make the Chorley Borough Council (Off- Street Parking Places, Chorley) Variation Order 2025 the effect of which will be:-

 To designate Hallgate, Ackhurst Lodge and Yarrow Park car parks as off-street long stay car parks 7 days a week with long stay tariffs in order to bring the car parks in line with other Chorley Borough Council long stay car parks.
 To designate Arley Street car park as an off-street long stay car park Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm, 9am to 1pm Saturday with a long stay tariff in order to bring the car park in line with other Chorley Borough Council long stay car parks.
 To designate Sandham Street car park as an off-street permit only car park 7 days a week. Eligible properties only and terms & conditions apply.

It is intended that these arrangements shall come into effect on 20 August 2025. The proposed variation Order and statement of reasons are available for inspection at Civic Offices, Union Street, Chorley, PR7 1AL from 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday. Alternatively, these can be viewed on the Council’s website at

www.chorley.gov.uk/parking



Any person wishing to make a representation relating to the proposed variation Order must do so in writing stating the grounds for objection or support to be made to Legal Services at the following address: Town Hall, Market Street, Chorley, PR7 1DP within 21 days following the date of this
Notice.
