ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(FALLOW CLOSE, LEATHERLAND DRIVE, MOSS LANE AND TANNERS CLOSE, WHITTLE-LE-WOODS, CHORLEY BOROUGH) (REVOCATION, 20MPH, 30MPH AND 40MPH SPEED LIMITS) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 07 May 2025 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Section 84 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1) Revoke the "Lancashire County Council (Various Roads, Chorley, Fylde, Pendle, Preston, Rossendale, South Ribble, West Lancashire and Wyre Boroughs) (Revocation, 30mph, 40mph, 50mph and De-Restricted Road (August No1) Speed Limits) Order 2018" insofar as it relates to Item b) of Schedule 3.
2) Introduce a 20mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Fallow Close, Whittle-le-Woods, the entire length;
b) Leatherland Drive, Whittle-le-Woods, the entire length;
c) Moss Lane, Whittle-le-Woods, from a point 77 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Springside Gardens in a northerly then easterly direction to a point 67 metres east of its junction with the centreline of Leatherland Drive;
d) Tanner Close, Whittle-le-Woods, the entire length.
3) Introduce a 30mph speed limit on Moss Lane, Whittle-le-Woods, from a point 17 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Springside Gardens for a distance of 253 metres in a south easterly direction.
4) Introduce a 40mph speed limit on Moss Lane, Whittle-le-Woods, from a point 270 metres south east of its junction with the centreline of Springside Gardens for a distance of 588.5 metres in an easterly then north easterly direction.
This Order will come into force on the 23 May 2025. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Chorley Borough Council, Town Hall, Market Street, Chorley, PR7 1DP, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website
