What is happening?

(Temporary Prohibition) Continuation Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire County Council HAS MADE an ORDER, under Sections 14 and 15(8) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

To continue the effects of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Everton Bridleway No.4) (Temporary Prohibition) Notice 2025.

That Notice came into force on 30th April 2025.
The effects are that:-
No person shall: -
(a) proceed on foot,
(b) cause any pedal cycle to proceed,
(c) cause any horse to proceed,
(d) cause any animal to proceed,
in the following length of Bridleway at Everton in the District of Bassetlaw-

Everton Bridleway No.4, (Black Bank Drain) between grid reference points SK 706919 and SK 706920, a distance of approximately 100metres.

AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there are alternative routes available 

IT IS INTENDED that the prohibition respecting the above highway or highways will apply as follows:- To 29th October 2025 inclusive.

The Continuation Order will come into force on 21st May 2025 and any prohibition contained in the continued Order shall apply on that day and on any subsequent day or days when it shall be necessary for the prohibition to apply to enable works to be carried out and the Order shall continue in full force until the works it is proposed to carry out are completed The duration of this Order may be extended with the approval of the relevant Secretary of State.

The prohibition is required to protect public safety due to erosion and sink holes and to enable repairs to be made.
