What is happening?

THE BOROUGH OF HALTON (HALF MARATHON) (SILVER JUBILEE BRIDGE & VARIOUS ROADS, RUNCORN & WIDNES) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OR RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that due to a special Event being held, Halton Borough Council intends to make, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, the above mentioned temporary Order under Section 16 (A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) by the Road Traffic Regulation (Special Events) Act 1994.

*This includes the closures at junctions of the following roads: A558 roundabout (Queensway/Bridgewater Expressway), Runcorn, Desoto Road Roundabout, Ditton Junction (A533 & A562), St Michael’s Road, Harrison Street, Lovel Terrace, Clapgate Crescent, Foundry Lane, Pickerings Road, Blackburn Avenue, Baguley Avenue, Garnetts Lane, Mersey View Road, Linnal Park, Heathview, Curlender Way, Ellwood Close, Cocklade Lane, Lower Road, Potters Lane, Widnes.

Reason for making the Order: the Council is satisfied that the Order is needed to facilitate the holding of an Event known as the ‘Silver Jubilee Bridge Half Marathon’.

Effect of the Order: during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs, no person shall cause or permit any vehicle to enter or proceed in or along the roads and no person shall during the Event period enter or proceed in or along the roads. While the Order is in operation, traffic, including bicycle and pedestrian movement, along the highways specified above will be temporarily restricted (except for emergency access).

Alternative Routes: where available suitably signed alternative route(s) will be provided. Access to properties adjoining the highways specified above will not be affected by the Order.

Date Order to come into effect: 0600 hours on Sunday 1 June 2025.

Maximum duration of the Order: 3 days from the date the Order comes into effect.

Note: the Order shall come into operation on 0600 hours on 1 June 2025 and will remain in force until 1400 hours on 1 June 2025. Contact 07957 157665 for further information.
