What is happening?

The Kingston Upon Hull City Council

Withernsea Branch Line, Cycle Track And Footpath
(Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an Order.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit any person from proceeding along Withernsea Branch Line, Cycle Track and Footpath, underneath Southcoates Lane, Kingston upon Hull.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during bridge examination works.

The alternative route for pedestrians and cycles will be signed.

The Order will come into effect 9th June 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding six months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed between 11am and 5pm on 9th June 2025.

Walton Street Level Crossing
(Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an Order.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit any person with or without a vehicle from proceeding along Walton Street Level Crossing, Spring Bank West, Kingston upon Hull.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during level crossing uplift works.

The alternative route for vehicles and pedestrians will be signed.

Access will be maintained for emergency services.

The Order will come into effect 1st June 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed between 12.01am to 7am on 1st June 2025.

May Street (Part)
(Temporary Prohibition Of Through Traffic) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has made an Order.

The effect of the Order is to prohibit any person with a vehicle from proceeding along May Street, outside numbers 2-15, Kingston upon Hull.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during works to access multiple chambers to remove blockage on sewer network.

The alternative route for vehicles will be signed.

Access will be maintained for emergency services.

The Order will come into effect 3rd June 2025 and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed between 9.30am and 3.30pm on 3rd June 2025.

Town Police Clauses Act 1847
Order For The Prevention Of Obstruction In Streets
Annual Hull 10k Event, Kingston Upon Hull

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on the 19th May 2025, the Kingston upon Hull City Council made an Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 for the purpose of preventing obstructions in the length of street in the City of Kingston upon Hull hereinafter mentioned on the occasion of the Annual Hull 10K Event, on 7th & 8th June 2025

The Order:-
(a) prohibits any person (except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform) from driving, riding or propelling any vehicle or causing or permitting any vehicle to wait in or on that length of:-

Poorhouse Lane, from Preston Road for 177 metres, between 5am and 1pm on 8th June 2025, Holder ness Road, from Ings Road to Summergangs Road, between 8.30am and 11.30am on 8th June 2025, (access will be maintained for businesses and buses until 9.15am),

Holderness Road, from Ings Road to Saltshouse Road, between 8.30am and 11.30am on 8th June 2025, (westbound only) (Bus access only along Holderness Road onto Ings Road, and local business access until 9.15am),

Marfleet Lane, from Preston Road to Maybury Road, between 8.30am and 12 noon,

Maybury Road, from Marfleet Lane to Holderness Road, between 8.30am and 12 noon, Preston Road,

from Exeter Grove to Annandale Road, between 8.30am and 12 noon, (bus access only from Hilston Grove until 9.15am),

Suspension of Parking Places:
Maybury Road, the whole length, no parking or waiting between 6pm on 7th June 2025 to 12 noon on 8th June 2025.

(b) requires any person directed or permitted by a police constable in uniform to drive, ride or propel a vehicle or to cause or permit a vehicle to wait on or in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to obey the directions of the said police constable and of any other police constable in uniform, and

(c) requires all persons present in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to comply with the directions of any police constable in uniform.

The purpose of these closures is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during the Annual Hull 10K Event.

The Order does not apply to fire brigade vehicles, ambulance and police vehicles.

The penalty for an infringement of the Order is a fine upon conviction not exceeding Four hundred pounds.

A copy of the said Order is available for inspection during normal office hours at the Reception Office at the Guildhall, Kingston upon Hull.

New Bridge Road/Wentworth Way Area
(20 Mph Speed Limit Zone) Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council on the 12th May 2025 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the 19th May 2025.

The effect of the Order is to make part of New Bridge Road (from north of Birkdale Way to the junction with Ellis Street) into a 20mph speed limit zone. Birkdale Way and Wentworth Way and all side streets off it are also included in the 20mph zone order.

The purpose of the Order is considered necessary to reduce the speeds of vehicles at the bend on New Bridge Road and to ensure the speeds of vehicles are more consistent for a residential area.

A copy of the Order and relevant map may be examined during normal office hours at the Reception and Enquiries Office, The Guildhall, The Kingston upon Hull, reference JGO/39800-1509.

If you wish to question the validity of this Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 12th May 2025, apply to the High court for this purpose.

Great Thornton Street Estate Controlled Parking Zone B Amendment Order 2025

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council on the 12th May 2025 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The Order will come into operation on the 19th May 2025.

The effect of the Order is to alter the restriction on waiting in some of the existing parking bays on Great Thornton Street. 

Some of the existing unrestricted parking bays will become 2 hour limited waiting (with exemption for permit holders) and some of the existing 2 hour limited waiting bays will become unrestricted.

The purpose of the Order is to ensure that the 2 hour limited bays are closer to the residential properties that they are intended to serve.

A copy of the Order and relevant map may be examined during normal office hours at the Reception and Enquiries Office, The Guildhall, The Kingston upon Hull, reference JGO/39800-1486.

If you wish to question the validity of this Order or any provisions contained in it on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, you may, within six weeks from the 12th May 2025, apply to the High court for this purpose.
