What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) Oxford Street (Part), Aldbourne; from outside its property known as No.22 Oxford Street to outside its property known as No.28 Oxford Street to enable Thames Water to carry out boundary box exchange. Alternative route via Oxford Street (unaffected length) – Aldbourne Road – Baydon Road – Lottage Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 10 June 2025 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Thames Water on 077591 24019.

B) C166 (Part), Stanton St Quintin; from its junction with A429 for a distance of approximately 23m in a north westerly direction to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out masonry refurbishment works and other associated works. Alternative route via C166 (unaffected length) – A429 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 09 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 for 1 day. C) B4042 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett and Lydiard Tregoze; from its roundabout junction with A3102 to its junction with B4696.

D) A3102 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett and Lydiard Tregoze; from its roundabout junction with B4042 to its junction with Stoneover Lane.

E) A414 (Part), Lydiard Tregoze; from its roundabout junction with A3102 to its junction with Hook Street to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, replacement of road markings, adjustment of ironworks and associated works. Alternative route C/D via A3102 (unaffected length) – B4534 – Grange Park Way – Hay Lane – Tregoze Way – Tewkesbury Way – Washoal Common Platt – B4545 – B4040 – B4696 and vice versa. Alternative route E via Hook Street – B4535 – A3102 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 07 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 16 June 2025. F) Annetts Lane (Part), Shalbourne; from its property known as Bagshot Manor House for a distance of approximately 100m in an easterly direction to enable Openreach to carry out polling and associated works. Alternative route via A338 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 for 5 days. G) Church Walk (Part), Devizes; from its junction with John Rumble Court for a distance of approximately 28m in a south westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out utility asset replacement works and associated works. Alternative route via Church Walk (unaffected length) – Brickley Lane – A361 – A342 – Church Walk (unaffected length) and vice versa. H) Lowden (Part), Chippenham; from its property known as No.21 Lowden for a distance of approximately 16m in a south westerly direction to enable Wessex Water to carry out manhole cover replacement works (section 81) and other associated works. Alternative route via Lowden (unaffected length) – A4 – B4528 – Sheldon Road – Lowden (unaffected length) and vice versa. I) C1 (Part), Hullavington; from outside its property known as Station Masters House for a distance of approximately 98m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out pole installation works and other associated works. Alternative route via C1 (unaffected length) – C27 – Hill Hayes Lane – C33 – C1 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 12 June 2025 and the closures will be required between the hours of 08:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. J) Pye Lane, Broad Town; from its junction with White Way to its junction with C415 to enable Openreach to carry out works to lay ducting, install node boxes and other associated works. Alternative route via C415 – C15 – C119 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 June 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 until 19 June 2025. K) A420 (Part), Chippenham Without; from its junction with Broad Lane to its junction with C153.

L) B4039 (Part), Chippenham Without; from its junction with A420 to its junction with C153 to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway works and other associated works. Alternative route K via A420 (unaffected length) – A46 – A4 – A350 – A420 (unaffected length) and vice versa. Alternative route L via B4039 (unaffected length) – B4040 – A46 – A420 – A350 (unaffected length) and vice versa. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0100.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

M) C15 (Part), Clyffe Pypard; from its junction with C119 to its junction with Thornehill Road to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway works and other associated works. Alternative route via C15 (unaffected length) – C120 – C123 – C110 – C15 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 23 May 2025. For further information please contact Wiltshire Council on 0300 456 0100.

N) Slaughterford Road, Biddestone; from its junction with C164 to its junction with C179 to enable Wale and West Utilities to carry out new connection and associated works. Alternative route via C179 – C164 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 08:00 and 15:30 until 23 May 2025. O) Court Hill (Part), Potterne; from its property known as No.34 Court Hill for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Alpharod Ltd to carry out new foul connection and associated works. Alternative route via Court Hill – Worton Road – Cheverell Road – A360 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and the closure will be required until 23 May 2025. P) George Lane (Part), Marlborough; from its junction with A345 to its junction with Ducks Meadow to enable Openreach to carry out blockage clearance work on the highway by accessing structure. Excavation is required. Alternative route via George Lane (unaffected length) – Salisbury Road – London Road – New Road – High Street – Pewsey Road and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 22 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 2 days. Q) C131 (Part), Lyneham and Bradenstoke; from its junction with Pintail Court to its junction with Victoria Drive to enable Openreach to carry out underground civils work, blockage clearance and other associated works. Alternative route via C131 (unaffected length) – C120 – A3102 – C131 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 20 May 2025 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 0800 023 2023.

Orders A) to Q) will have a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all users:

A) Footpath 16, Manningford; from its junction with Manor Lane to its junction with Wilcot Road.

B) Footpath 24, Manningford; from its junction with Footpath 16, Manningford to its junction with Footpath 12, Manningford to enable Wessex Water to undertake essential infrastructure sewer replacement construction scheme in Manningford Bruce/Manningford Abbots. Alternative route via existing highways and public rights of way. This Order will come into operation on 09 June 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 12 September 2025. C) Footpath 1 (Part), Devizes; from outside its property known as Ashbourne House for a distance of approximately 100m in a south westerly direction to enable maintenance/repairs to the disused rail bridge near St Johns Church, which is owned by the department of transport. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 09 June 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 11 July 2025. Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made Orders to close temporarily to all users:

D) Footpath 1 (Part), Chippenham; from its junction with Footpath 9, Lacock for a distance of approximately 360m in a north easterly direction to enable development of 225 new homes and infrastructure works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 19 May 2025 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required until 19 November 2025. E) Footpath 13 (Part), Worton; from its junction with Bridleway 11, Worton for a distance of approximately 250m in an easterly direction to enable repair of a collapsed section of stone wall. Alternative route via existing public highways and rights of way. This Order which was due to expire on 21 May 2025 will now continue in force until 21 May 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is earliest. F) Footpath 13 (Part), Worton; from its junction with Cheverell Road to its junction with Sandleaze.

G) Footpath 26, Worton; from its junction with High Street to its junction with Footpath 13, Worton to enable Construction of residential development, planning consent ref: PL/2022/08551. Alternative route: Follow the southern boundary of the development site, entering and exiting the development boundary by utilising the existing gap in the hedge at point “B” and the existing stile at point “A”. See enclosed plan. This Order which was due to expire on 20 May 2025 will now continue in force until 20 May 2026 or until completion of the works, whichever is earliest. Orders A) to D) will have a maximum duration of 06 months, Orders E) to G) will have a maximum duration of 12 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 – SECTION 116 APPLICATION

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council intends to make application to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at Princes Street, Swindon on 20 June 2025 from 2pm for an Order stopping-up (i.e. extinguishing) a section of highway adjacent to 1 The Ham, Kington St. Michael on the ground that it is unnecessary for public use or any other highway-related reason.

A copy of this notice and an application plan may be obtained from – and any queries directed to – Mr. Gale of Legal Services on tel. no. (01225) 718023. Alternatively, the plan may be inspected free of charge by prior arrangement with Mr. Gale at County Hall, Trowbridge, during normal office hours.

Any person who has been served with notice, any person who uses the highway or any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order may attend or write to the court and make their objections or representations known. If they have not already done so, such persons are also requested to give notice in writing to the Solicitor to the Council, quoting the reference 201238.
