Main Road and Front Sreet - Proposed Construction of Road Humps
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
MAIN ROAD AND FRONT SREET, DINNINGTON
(i) (Main Road, Dinnington) Speed Limit Order 2025
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 8th May 2025 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The effect of the Order which will come into operation on 2nd June 2025 is to -
(a) introduce a 20 miles per hour speed limit on Main Road - from a point 136 metres south of its junction with Havannah Crescent in a north-westerly direction, to a point 50 metres north of its junction with West Acres, and
(b) amend a length of 30 miles per hour speed limit on Main Road so that it extends as follows - Main Road, from its junction with Dinnington Road in a northerly direction to a point 136 metres south of its junction with Havannah Crescent (currently extends on Main Road from its junction with Dinnington Road in a northerly direction to its junction with Havannah Crescent).
(ii) Proposed Construction of Road Humps - Main Road and Front Street, Dinnington The construction of speed cushions in Main Road and Front Street will also be proceeded with, in exercise of powers under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980, details of which were advertised in the Journal newspaper on 26th February 2025.

If you wish to question the validity of the above Orders or of any of their Provisions on the grounds that it or they are not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any relevant requirements have not been complied with in relation to the Orders you may, within six weeks from 8th May 2025, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
