ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON (VARIOUS ROADS) (NO. 3) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate a programme of carriageway resurfacing and general maintenance works to be undertaken in the roads specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice, they have made an Order, the effect of which, during the works, will be to temporarily prohibit vehicular traffic from entering, proceeding or waiting, including loading and unloading, in those roads or lengths of roads as specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.
Any designated parking place situated in any of the roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice shall be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of road.
Alternative routes for diverted traffic will be indicated by advance warning and diversion signs on the roads affected when the works are in progress, except for the works in Chestnut Road and Clifton Park Avenue which are both cul-de-sacs.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
Nothing in the Order will apply to: -
(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions; or
(d) any person requiring vehicular access to properties adjacent to the prohibited roads or lengths of roads insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with the said works.
The Order will come into force on Tuesday 27th May 2025 and the anticipated dates are specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order will remain in operation for a maximum period of 12 months and its provisions will be re-introduced should further works be required.

WILLOW LANE TRADING ESTATE
(TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025
The London Borough of Merton Council hereby give notice that to facilitate street cleaning and line marking works to be undertaken in the roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice, they have made an Order, the effect of which, during the works, will be to temporarily restrict parking in the said roads or lengths of road.
During the works, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to wait, including for the purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in the roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice.
Any designated parking place situated in any of the roads or lengths of road specified in column 1 of the Schedule to this notice will be suspended for the duration of the works in those roads or lengths of road.
The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Any vehicle that is in contravention of any waiting restrictions imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.

(a) any vehicle being used in connection with the execution of the said works; or
(b) anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police officer in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(c) any vehicle being used for police, fire brigade or ambulance purposes, subject to site conditions.
The Order will come into force on Sunday 18th May 2025 and the works are anticipated to be carried out on the dates specified in column 2 of the Schedule to this notice. However, the Order will remain in operation for a maximum period of 18 months and its provisions will be re-introduced should further works be required.

PROVISION OF CYCLE HIRE PARKING PLACES IN VARIOUS ROADS
THE MERTON (PARKING PLACES) (CYCLE HIRE) (NO. 6) ORDER 2025
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Merton, on 13 May 2025, made the above-mentioned Order under the powers conferred by section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.
The general effect of the “Cycle Hire Parking Places” Order will be to designate a parking place on the carriageway in the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice for the leaving of electric assisted pedal cycles being used in a public hire scheme operated under an agreement with the Council.
A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 16 May 2025, and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order, including plans specifying the roads or lengths of road affected by the Order, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made at Merton Link, Merton Civic Centre, London Road, Morden SM4 5DX. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement or regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within six weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

**ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTIONS 14(1) AND 15(8)
LONDON BOROUGH OF MERTON
(ASHBOURNE ROAD AND STREATHAM ROAD, MITCHAM (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2025)**
The Council of the London Borough of Merton hereby give notice that because of major gas works in Streatham Road, they have made an Order, the effect of which will be to continue in force the provisions of a major notice issued under section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 temporarily restricting traffic in Ashbourne Road and Streatham Road.
Under the Order, no person will cause or permit any vehicle to:
(a) enter or proceed in Ashbourne Road, from its junction with Streatham Road, north-westward for a distance of 5 metres; or
(b) wait, including for purpose of loading or unloading any vehicle, in:
(i) the road or length of road specified in paragraph (a) above;
(ii) Streatham Road, both sides, from a point in line with the south-west boundary of No. 172 Streatham Road to a point 30 metres south-west of its junction with Links Road.
The restrictions will only apply during such times and to such extent as will from time to time be indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016.
Any designated parking place situated in the road or length of road specified in sub-paragraph 2(b)(ii) above shall be suspended for the duration of the works when and where appropriate traffic signs are being displayed.
Vehicular traffic affected by the road closure should proceed via:
Streatham Road north-eastbound, Southcroft Road, Mitcham Road, London Road, Streatham Road, north-eastbound, St Barnabas Road and Edenvale Road; or
Streatham Road, St Barnabas Road and Edenvale Road or vice-versa.
Nothing in the Order will apply:
(a) to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or a police community support officer in uniform; or
(b) to any person or vehicle engaged in the execution of the said works; or
(c) to the police, fire brigade or ambulance services, subject to site conditions; or
(d) so as to prevent vehicular access to premises in or adjacent to the road specified in paragraph 2(a) above insofar as access is reasonably practicable without interference with works.
Any vehicle in contravention of any waiting restriction imposed by the Order may be removed under the provisions of the Removal and Disposal of Vehicles Regulations 1986.
The Order will come into operation on Saturday 17th May 2025 and it is anticipated that the works will be completed on Monday 16th June 2025. However, the Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 3 months and its provisions will be re-introduced should further works be required.
