George Street - Temporary Prohibition Of Vehicular Traffic For Building Maintenance And Window Replacement

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)
Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, in not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):
ORDER NO. MCC143459831: The City of Manchester (George Street, Deansgate Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on George Street from Dickinson Street to Oxford Street. The alternative routes for traffic will be: Oxford Street, Portland Street, Dickinson Street, St James Street, Princess Street, George Street & Oxford Street, Lower Mosley Street, Windmill Street, Great Bridgewater Street, Chepstow Street, Portland Street, Dickinson Street, St James Street, Princess Street, George Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate a crane and mewp for building maintenance and window replacement. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 31st May 2025 to 21st June 2025. The order shall come into operation on 31st May 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
