SOUTH TYNESIDE COUNCIL
(VIRTUAL PERMITS) ORDER 2025

On 14 May 2025 South Tyneside Council made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The Order which comes into operation on 21 May 2025 will amend the existing Foreshore and Off Street Parking Places Consolidation Order and Parking Places Consolidation Order to allow for the introduction of the issue of virtual permits. All parking permits/permits/season tickets currently
available in a paper format may be issued in an electronic format at the request of the customer as a virtual permit not requiring display. Virtual permits are an addition to the range of permits currently offered by the Council and all existing permit types are still available. For further information see the council website. Full details are contained in the Order, which, together with a plan showing the lengths of road affected and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order, may be inspected from Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm at the Town Hall, Westoe Road, South Shields, NE33 2RL. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Order or any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act or that any of the requirements of the Act or of any relevant regulations made under the
Act have not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from 14 May 2025 when the Order was made, make an application for that purpose to the High Court.
