ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984, SECTION 14

AS AMENDED AND THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991

NORMAN AVENUE, PURLEY BURY AVENUE, PURLEY DOWNS ROAD, PENWORTHAM ROAD, VICTORIA AVENUE, & YEW TREE WALK, SOUTH CROYDON & PURLEY

TEMPORARY RESTRICTION OF TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate gas main replacement work by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily restrict traffic in the above roads.

  2. Whilst the said works are taking place the roads/sections of road will be closed as detailed below

  1. Whilst the closures are in place the diversion routes for traffic will be as detailed below.

• Norman Avenue Westbound: Via Purley Downs Road, Riddlesdown Road, Brighton Road, Sanderstead Road, and Florence Road.

• Norman Avenue Eastbound: Via Purley Downs Road, Penwortham Road, and Purley Oaks Road.

• Victoria Avenue Southbound: Via Penwortham Road, and Purley Downs Road.

• Victoria Avenue Northbound: Via Penwortham Road, Purley Oaks Road, and Norman Avenue.

• Yew Tree Walk: Via Brancaster Lane, and Purley Bury Avenue.

• Purley Downs Road: Via Brighton Road, Purley Road, Godstone Road, Downs Court Road, Mitchley Avenue, Rectory Park, Sanderstead Hill and vice versa.

• Purley Bury Avenue: Via Brancaster Lane, and Yew Tree Walk.

• Penwortham Road: Via Victoria Avenue, and Norman Avenue.

  1. The Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed as detailed above. However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required.

  2. These restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in carrying out the said works.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (TEMPORARY RESTRICTIONS) ACT 1991 AND ALL OTHER ENABLING POWERS

ROKE ROAD, KENLEY

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate works by SES Water, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Roke Road, Kenley.

  2. During the work Roke Road will be closed outside Rokewood Court, No. 20 Roke Road.

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative route for traffic will be via Roke Road, Oaks Way, Park Road, Foxley Road, Roke Road and reversed.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 06 June 2025.

    However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.

  5. The restrictions shall not apply in respect of:

    (a) any vehicle involved in conducting the said work.

    (b) a vehicle being used for fire brigade, ambulance, or police purposes, or the purposes of a statutory undertaker in an emergency, such as the loss of supplies of gas, electricity or water to premises in the area, which necessitates the bringing of vehicles into a section of road to which the order applies.

    (c) anything done with the permission of a police constable in uniform or a Civil Enforcement Officer.

THIRSK ROAD, SOUTH NORWOOD

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF VEHICULAR TRAFFIC

  1. Croydon Council HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that to facilitate new gas connection works by SGN, they intend to make an Order the effect of which would be to temporarily prohibit traffic movements in Thirsk Road, South Norwood.

  2. During the work Thirsk Road will be closed between its junction with Whitehorse Lane and the common boundary of Nos. 6 and 8 Thirsk Road.

  3. Whilst the closure remains in force the alternative routes for diverted traffic will be via Whitehorse Lane, Ladbrook Road, Ross Road, Grange Road, and Oban Road, or via Bruce Road, Grange Road, and Whitehorse Lane.

  4. The Order will come into operation on 02 June 2025, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed on 05 June 2025.

    However, the Order will remain in force for 18 months to be reintroduced should further work be required. The prohibition will only apply during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs.
