(30 Mph and 40 Mph Speed Limit) Order 2025

On 13 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-named Order, under section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to; (a) impose a 30 miles per hour speed limit in that length of D184 Knowle Lane, Cranleigh as extends from the lamp column numbered 5 situated to the south of D5543 Newlands and in a southerly direction to a point 10 metres north of its junction with the entrance to the property known as “Knowle Park Aira Care Home”. and; (b) carry out legal drafting amendments to “The Surrey County Council (Various Roads in Cranleigh and Alfold in the Borough of Waverley) (30 MPH 40 MPH and 50 MPH Speed Limit) Order 2009” insofar as it affects D184 Knowle Lane; (c) The 40mph speed limit will remain the same from a point 10 metres north of the junction with the entrance to the property known as “Knowle Park Aira Care Home” to its junction with D185 Hogspudding Lane. 

The speed limit proposed by this Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. 

A copy of the made Order, which will come into operation on 19 May 2025, and a copy of the Order to be amended, together with the plan showing the length of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be viewed free of charge at:

(i) Cranleigh Library, High Street, Cranleigh, Waverley GU6 8AE during normal opening hours; and,

(ii) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, by appointment only.
