B389 Sandhills Lane, Virginia Water and B389 Green Road, Thorpe
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 14 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of B389 Sandhills Lane, Virginia Water and B389 Green Road, Thorpe. 

This Traffic Order is required to enable Affinity Water to relay a long service pipe and/or carry out maintenance works in B389 Sandhills Lane, between “Fairways” and “Oak Lodge”. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 4pm within 4 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 27 May 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. 

Alternative route:- Green Road, Thorpe By-Pass, New Wickham Lane, Stroude Road and Sandhills Lane.


Send Marsh Road (B368) Send
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 14 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Send Marsh Road (B368) Send as extends from its junction with (A247) Send Barns Lane/Send Road and (D232) Send Hill north-eastwards for a distance of 500 metres. Alternative Route – A247 Send Barns Lane; Portsmouth Road; Send Marsh Road; Send Marsh Green; and Send Marsh Road or this same route in reverse. 

The Order is required to allow underground telecoms utility works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of BT Openreach within the length of road described in this notice. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over one day between the hours of 8am and 4pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 25 May 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for residents, the emergency services, pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. 

All other traffic, will be required to use the signed diversion route.


London Road (A30) Egham
Temporary Suspension of Cycle Lane Order 2025

On 9 May 2025, Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to suspend “The Surrey County Council London Road (A30) Egham/Virginia Water/Sunningdale (Cycle Lanes) (No.1) Order 2004” shall be suspended insofar as it relates to the southbound A30 between a point 61 metres north of the centreline of Bakeham Lane and Bakeham Lane. 

The Order is required to allow Openreach to carry out utility works and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 4 days, between 9:00am and 4:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 May 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary suspension, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed.


Pleasant Place (D3903) Hersham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 14 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Pleasant Place (D3903) Hersham as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Burnhill County Primary School” to a point in line with the common boundary between property No.48 and No.50 Pleasant Place. 

Alternative Route: Pleasant Place, Back Green, Burnhill Road, Burwood Road, and Pleasant Place, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate new water connection works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 7pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 28 May 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. 

Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through the closure and all traffic, including emergency services, will be required to use the signed diversion route. 

The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.


Oxenden Road (C119) Tongham
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 14 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Oxenden Road (C119) Tongham as extends from its junction with (D879) Oxenden Court to its junction with (A323) Aldershot Road. 

Alternative Route: (A323) Aldershot Road, Manor Road, and Oxenden Road, or this route in reverse. 

This Order is required to facilitate manhole cover replacement works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night, between the hours of 7.30pm and 23.59pm, within the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 27 May 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times. 

It will not be possible to maintain access through the closure for emergency services, residents and businesses and all vehicular traffic will be required to use the signed diversion route. 

The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2)(a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above, or accessible only therefrom, may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising.


Station Road (D207) Shalford and Upper Street (C46) Shere
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 14 May 2025 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of; (a) Station Road (D207) Shalford as extends from its junction with (A248) Kings Road to its junction with (X207) Pound Place. 

Alternative Route: Station Road and (A248) Kings Road, or this route in reverse; (b). Upper Street (C46) Shere as extends from its junction with the access to the property known as “Bignolds” to its junction with the access to the property known as “Fernside”. 

Alternative Route: Upper Street, (A25) Shere Road, Gomshall Lane, and Upper Street, or this route in reverse. 

The Order is required to facilitate excavation and installation of new pressure reducing valve mains water works and new connection works for, or on behalf of Thames Water. 

For part (a) These works are anticipated to be carried out over 14 days, between the hours of 8am and 5pm. 

For part (b) These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days, between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 19 May 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists, via road plates, if required. No sole access will be affected by these closures.


D3018 Salesian Gardens, Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D3018 Salesian Gardens, Chertsey that extends from the north-eastern property boundary of “No.5 Salesian Gardens”, to the eastern property boundary of “No.8 Salesian Gardens”. 

This Traffic Order is required to enable Affinity Water to carry out investigations and/or maintenance works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 3 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 18 June 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

There is no applicable alternative route however access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times by means of road plates.


D6971 Springfield Lane, Weybridge
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D6971 Springfield Lane, Weybridge that extends from its junction with D3878 Monument Green, to the north-eastern property boundary of “No.15 Springfield Lane”. 

This Traffic Order is required to enable Affinity Water to carry out frame and lid replacement and/or water mains and/or maintenance works. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm within 2 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 07 June 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

There is no applicable alternative route however access for emergency services, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times by means of road plates.


Summer Road (C160) Thames Ditton
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to (a) prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding that length of Summer Road (C160) Thames Ditton that is crossed by the Level Crossing known as Hampton Court Level Crossing and for a distance of 20 metres to either side; and (b) suspend “The Surrey County Council Summer Road (C160) Thames Ditton Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2024” insofar as it affects that length of road specified in part (a). 

Alternative Route – Summer Road; High Street; St Leonards Road; A307 Portsmourth Road/High Street/ Kingston Hall Road/Wheatfield Way/Fairfield West/Clarence Street; A308 Wood Street/Horse Fair/Hampton Court Road; and A309 Hampton Court Bridge/Hampton Court Way. 

This 18-month Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 07 June 2025 is required to facilitate excavation works and/or mechanical wet bed removal works and/or rerailing works and/or general maintenance works to be carried out by, or on behalf of Network Rail within the length of road described in this notice. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out in two parts. The first part is anticipated to commence on 07 June 2025 for 2 nights between the hours of 10pm and 4am, the second part is anticipated to commence on 05 September 2025 for 3 nights between the hours of 11pm and 5am. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will operate only when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for the emergency services, cyclists, and pedestrians will be maintained when safe to do so via operatives on site. 

All other traffic including local residents will be required to use the signed diversion route. No sole access will be affected by the closure.


Little Green Lane (D3027) Chertsey
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Little Green Lane (D3027) Chertsey between its junction with Guildford Road (A320) and a point 10 metres east of this junction.

Alternative Route – Little Green Lane, Green Lane and Guildford Road (A320), or this route in reverse.

The Order is required to allow Brownes to carry out water main works and all associated works which is anticipated to be completed within 1 month, between 7:00am and 7:00pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 9 June 2025.

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.

Parsons Mead (D6935) East Molesey Temporary Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Unloading Order 2025 Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Sections 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit waiting, loading, and unloading at any time, by vehicles on both sides of the carriageway in that length of Parsons Mead (D6935) East Molesey from a point in line with the common boundary between property No.09 and No.11 Parsons Mead to a point in line with the common boundary between property No.19 and No.21 Parsons Mead. 

This Temporary Order is required to facilitate new sewer connection works for, or on behalf of NG Tunnelling Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 days, between the hours of 8am and 4am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which commences on 09 June 2025. 

This temporary restriction, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed and only to such extent as indicated by those traffic signs. 

Exemptions apply for vehicles when waiting because they are required by law to stop, are obliged to stop in order to prevent an accident or are prevented from proceeding because of circumstances outside the drivers control and in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or of a civil enforcement officer will apply when the temporary restrictions are in force. (N.B. Disabled persons displaying a disabled blue badge will not be exempt from the temporary waiting restriction).


Epsom Road (Footpath and Cycle Lane) (A25) Guildford
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) and 14(7) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any person from entering or proceeding on foot or by any other means in that length of; (a) Epsom Road (Footpath and Cycle Lane) (A25) Guildford as extends from its junction with (D4009) Merrow Street to its roundabout with (B2234) Park Lane; (b) Suspend “The County Council of Surrey Epsom Road (A246) and (A25) Guildford (Cycle Lanes) (No.1) Order 2000” insofar as it affects that length of the Cycle Lane in Part (a) of this Notice. Alternative route for pedestrians: Use crossing on (A25) Epsom Road. 

This Order is required to facilitate telecom utility works for, or on behalf of Paragon Traffic Management Ltd. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 days, between the hours of 10am and 4pm, during the 6-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 09 June 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure and restriction will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access along the footpath and cycle lane whilst works are in progress. Vehicular access will be maintained at all times. No sole access will be affected.


Shortwood Avenue (D3316) Staines Upon Thames
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Shortwood Avenue (D3316) Staines Upon Thames. 

This Order is required to facilitate relaying long service pipe works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water. 

These works are anticipated to be carried out over 3 days, between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 11 June 2025. 

Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. 

Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates if required, as will access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists.

There is no alternative route for this closure.

Public Footpath 64 (Elstead)
Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025

On 22 May 2025 Surrey County Council will make the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along that length of Public Footpath 64 (Elstead) which extends for 340 metres from its junction with Public Footpath 65 (Elstead) (Grid reference: 490513 144341) to its junction with a permissive path at Grid reference: 490585 144017.

The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to the adjacent riverbank having become undermined and unstable/having collapsed, and a collapsed bridge.

The closure will be in operation for a period of six months from 23 May 2025 or until completion of the works, if earlier. 

That period can be extended by the Secretary of State for Transport if required.

The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected. The alternative route for traffic from the northern end of closure will be: proceed in a generally southerly direction along Public Footpath 65 (Elstead), then in a generally easterly direction along a permissive footpath until you reach Public Footpath 64 (Elstead). Total length of the proposed diversion: 450 metres.

The alternative route for traffic from the southern end of the closure will be the reverse of the route described above.

“The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 64 (Elstead) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2025” will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
