What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL

TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED)

Notice is hereby given that the City Council has made the following Temporary Road Traffic Order(s):

ORDER NO. MCC000143049978: The City of Manchester (Rochdale Road, Piccadilly Ward)(Temporary Closure of Bus Lane) Order 2025under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the order is to prohibit any bus, taxi or pedal cycle from proceeding at any time in the following length of bus lane: Rochdale Road, Inbound between Moorhead Street and Sudell Street. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate S50 gas works.

It is expected that the works will be in progress on Sundays Only from 18th May 2025 to 1st June 2025. The order shall come into operation on 18th May 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.

ORDER NO. MCC142585712: The City of Manchester (Jacksons Row, Deansgate Ward)(Various) Orders 2025 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Various Streets in the Deansgate & Piccadilly Wards. The alternative routes for traffic will be signed locally to the Ring Road. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate Great Manchester Run 2025. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 17th May 2025 to 18th May 2025.

The order shall come into operation on 17th May 2025 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period.
