What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF FOOTPATH SHENLEY 4

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians from using that length of Footpath Shenley 4, which runs from Silver Hill to Green Street, for an approximate distance of 800m.

Alternative Route: via Shenley 5.

The section of Footpath Shenley 4 may be closed as and when signs are in place.

The Order will come into effect when works begin on or after 30 May 2025 for a period of 6 months, when signs are in place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ARDEN GROVE, HARPENDEN) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the southbound carriageway of Arden Grove, Harpenden, from its junction with B652 Station Road to a point 135 metres southwards (the “Road”), except for access.

An alternative route will be via B652 Station Road, A1081 St Albans Road, Dell Road, Southdown Road and Arden Grove.

The Order is needed because utility repair works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into force on 3 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BEECH ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Beech Road, St Albans from a point in line with No 45 Beech Road to a point 135m Beech Road north eastwards for a distance of approximately 135m (the “Road”), except for access.

There is no alternative route available when works are in place.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order will come into force on 3 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF CHEQUERS LANE, ABBOTS LANGLEY) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Chequers Lane, Abbots Langley from its junction with A405 to St Albans Road north-westwards for a distance of approximately 135 metres, except for access.

An alternative route will be via A405 (north orbital road), B4630 St Albans Road, Horseshoe Lane, Watford Road and Chequers Lane or via A405 North Orbital Road (Tanners Wood), Horseshoe Lane, B4630 Watford Road and St Albans Road.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made, shall come into force on 2 June 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF ORIENT CLOSE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Orient Close, St Albans from its junction with the A1081 London Road/Grosvenor Road roundabout south westwards for a distance of approximately 35m (the “Road”).

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service connection works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE FOOTPATH SITUATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF NO.14 WATLING VIEW, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from using the Footpath situated on the south side of No.14 Watling View, St Albans from its junction with Watling View south westwards for a distance of approximately 22m (the “Footpath”).

An alternative route will be the footway situated on the south west side of Watling View and the footway situated on the south east side of Watling View.

The purpose of the Order is to enable the installation of a new sub station to be executed near the Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footpath.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN OLD LONDON ROAD, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Old London Road, St Albans from its junction with Watsons Walk south westwards and north eastwards to its junction with A1081 London Road, a distance of approximately 462m (the “Road”).

An alternative route will be via Watsons Walk and A1081 London Road.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 19 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF A4147 FOLEY LANE, ST ALBANS) ORDER 2025

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of A4147 Foley Lane, St Albans from its junction with A4147 Catherine Street south westwards, north westwards, south westwards, north westwards and south westwards to its junction with A414 St Stephen’s Hill/Bluehouse Hill (the “Road”), a distance of approximately 738m.

An alternative route will be via A4147 Catherine Street, A1081 (St Peter’s Street/Upper Marlborough Road) and A414.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 24 May 2025 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.
