TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2025
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council propose to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 not less than seven days from the date hereof, the Highway Authority being satisfied that the restrictions are required because works are being or are proposed to be carried out on or near the roads.
The effect of the Order, which will come into effect on 23rd May 2025, will be to temporarily close the lengths of roads specified in Schedule 1 below, suspend the bus lane specified in Schedule 2, and introduce a clearway along the lengths of the roads specified in Schedule 3, at such times as traffic management signs may be erected to notify highway users of the restrictions. It is expected that the restrictions will be required from approximately 25th May 2025 to Summer 2026. The Order may continue in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. Access for pedestrians and emergency services will not be maintained, and bus services will be affected.
Schedule 1 - Temporary Road Closures
A1305 Riverside, Stockton - Between its junctions with Tower Street and A1046 North Shore Gyratory.
Quayside Road, Stockton - From its junction with Riverside in a southern direction for approximately 80 metres.
Schedule 2 - Temporary Bus Lane Suspension
A1305 Churchyard Link Road, Stockton - From its junction with Prince Regent Street in a south westerly direction for approximately 60 metres.
Schedule 3 - Temporary Clearway
Moat Street, Stockton (south side) - From a point approximately 45 metres east of its junction A1305 Riverside in an easterly direction for approximately 25 metres.
Station Street, Thornaby (both sides) - From a point approximately 58 metres east of its junction with Princeton Drive in a south-easterly direction for approximately 110 metres.
