Essex, Multiple Roads, Temporary Closures Due To Various Works

What is happening?

(Bridleway 52, Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Use) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended).

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close Bridleway 52 in the District of Harlow, from the junction with Rye Green Village, northwest to its junction with Footpath 50, for approximately 650 metres.

Diversion will be via: Footpath 50, Partridge Road, Partridge Road, A1169 Southern Way, Rye Green Village and vice versa.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 27 May 2025 to 16 June 2025 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The closure is required for the safety of the public, while Bridleway repairs are undertaken.

The Order will come into effect on 27 May 2025 may continue in force for 6 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Three Horseshoes Road, Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order: To temporarily close that length of Three Horseshoes Road, Harlow in the District of Harlow, from a point approximately 20m south west of its junction with Jerounds for a distance of approximately 40m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 12th June 2025 for 5 days, or where stated on a valid permit (MX04410525763 – Affinity Water). The scheduled dates may vary for these works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while valve repair works are undertaken by Affinity Water.

An alternative route is available via Three Horseshoes Road, Paycock Road, Katherine’s Way, and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 22nd May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, Epping Forest) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Streetworks No.1) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the Order: To temporarily close those lengths of roads in the District of Epping Forest, as detailed in the schedule.

The roads are scheduled to be closed from 22nd May 2025, as stated on a valid permit, during the hours of 09:30-15:30 where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting. The scheduled dates may vary for each road and the road will only be closed for the duration of the works. The closures are required for the safety of the public and workforce while overhead networks maintenance works are undertaken by Sunbelt Rentals on behalf of BT.

The Order will come into effect on 22nd May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Various Roads, District of Harlow) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & Temporary Introduction of a Clearway) (No.7) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice to make the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close those lengths of road in the District of Harlow as specified in the schedule.

  2. A temporary “No Waiting, No Loading and No Stopping” restriction will be introduced on both sides of carriageway on the above lengths of road for the duration of the closures to facilitate the works. Signs will be installed indicating when the No Waiting restriction is in force.

The works being undertaken will take place within an 18-month period from 22nd May 2025, exact dates of works will be specified on-one.network. The roads will be closed for the duration of the works and reopen to the public. Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians. There will be no access to properties or businesses within the closure extents unless agreed with the Area Streetworks Team and site personnel. The Order will come into effect on 22nd May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Crossing Road, Epping) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Crossing Road, Epping in the District of Epping Forest, from a point approximately 35m north of its junction with Brook Road for a distance of approximately 15m in a north easterly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th May 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (nS300392682115 – UK Power Networks). The scheduled dates may vary for the works with appropriate signs showing and/or displayed on site. The closure is required for the safety of the public and workforce while UK Power Networks carry out works.

An alternative route is available via Allnuts Road, Bower Hill, Brook Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 18th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

(Forest Drive, Theydon Bois) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Forest Drive, Theydon Bois in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Dukes Avenue to its junction with Hornbeam Road, approx. 190m in a south westerly direction. The closure is scheduled to commence on 28th May 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (nL0133002338-0001 – Thames Water). The scheduled dates may vary with appropriate signage.

Alternative route: Forest Drive, Elizabeth Drive, Orchard Drive, Heath Drive, Dukes Avenue and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 8th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works are completed.

(Ongar Road, Lambourne)

(Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) (Gravel Lane, Chigwell) (Temporary Suspension of 7.5 Tonne Weight Restriction) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

  1. To temporarily close that length of Ongar Road, Lambourne in the District of Epping Forest from its junction with New Farm Drive to its junction with New Farm Drive (entire length), approx. 70m in a north easterly direction.

  2. To temporarily suspend the 7.5T weight restriction in that length of Gravel Lane, Chigwell in the District of Epping Forest, from its junction with Abridge Road to its junction with Bournebridge Lane (the Epping Forest District Order 1992) for the duration of the above closure only.

The closure is scheduled to commence on 18th May 2025 for 1 day, or where stated on a valid permit (SC300208282617 – UK Power Networks). Signs showing the scheduled dates and diversion routes will be displayed on site.

Alternative route: A113, A112, A128, A127 and vice versa.

The Order came into effect on 18th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works are completed.

(Station Road, Chigwell) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic) Order 2025

Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council has made the above Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Effect of the order:

To temporarily close that length of Station Road, Chigwell in the District of Epping Forest, from approximately 40m in a south easterly direction from its junction with Brook Parade for a distance of approximately 40m. The closure is scheduled to commence on 27th May 2025 for 1 day.

Alternative route: via Station Road, Roding Lane, High Road, Station Road and vice versa.

The Order will come into effect on 8th May 2025 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed.
