PROVISION OF SPEED HUMPS – WANSTEAD AREA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT to control the speed of vehicles under the Highways Act 1980 and in accordance with the provisions of the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge proposes to construct speed humps, speed cushions and kerb-to-kerb flat-top raised speed tables at the following locations:–
(i) Arran Drive; 34, 100, 167; and 232 metres south of the southern kerb line of Northumberland Avenue or thereabouts;
(ii) Belgrave Road; outside house Nos. 14, 30/32, 37/39, 47/49, 59/61, 79/81, 122/124, 140/142 and 158/160 or thereabouts;
(iii) Blake Hall Crescent; outside house No. 2 and 6 or thereabouts;
(iv) Draycot Road; approximately 16 metres north-west of the north-western kerb line of Overton Drive; outside house Nos. 26, 23, 17 and 11 or thereabouts;
(v) Empress Avenue; outside house Nos. 3/5, 19, 33/35, 64; 23 metres south-west of the south-western kerb line of Wanstead Park Avenue; 35 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb line of Wanstead Park Avenue; and 56 and 121 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb line of Arran Drive or thereabouts;
(vi) Lake House Road; outside house Nos. 20/21 and 29/30 or thereabouts;
(vii) Overton Drive; approximately 24 metres east of the eastern kerb line of Langley Drive; outside house Nos. 110, 120/122, 134, 146 and 160; and approximately 23 metres south-west of the south-western kerb line of Warren Road or thereabouts;
(viii) Richmond Way; approximately 27 metres east of the eastern kerb line of Belgrave Road, outside house no.’s 6/8; and approximately 16 metres south-east of the common boundary of house Nos. 1/3 or thereabouts;
(ix) Wanstead Park Avenue; outside house Nos. 1/3, 19, 39, 49/51, 61/63, 71/73, 87, 107 and 123/125; and approximately 20 metres south-west of the south-western kerb line of Northumberland Avenue or thereabouts;
(x) Warren Road; approximately 22 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb line of Redbridge Lane West; outside house Nos. 15, 10, 24, 59, 58, 85, 97 and 105 or thereabouts;
(xi) Windsor Road; approximately 36 metres north-west of the north-western kerb line of Lake House Road; outside house Nos. 26 and 13/15; approximately 28 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb line of Belgrave Road or thereabouts;
(xii) Blake Hall Road; 12 metres north of the northern kerb line of Tennyson Avenue; 75, 155, 235 and 314 metres south of the southern kerb line of Overton Drive; 12 metres north of the northern kerb line of Woodlands Avenue; and 68 metres south of the southern kerb line of Woodlands Avenue or thereabouts;
(xiii) Centre Road; approximately 69, 144, 219 and 293 metres south of the southern kerb line of Lake House Road; and approximately 275, 355, 435, 510 and 585 metres north of the northern kerb line of Forest Road or thereabouts;
(xiv) Lake House Road; approximately 41, 139, 221 and 300 metres south-west of the south-western kerb line of Windsor Road; and approximately 90, 173, 256 and 345 metres north-east of the north-eastern kerb line of Harrow Road or thereabouts;
(xv) Aldersbrook Road; approximately 14 metres south-east of the south-eastern kerb line of Queenswood Gardens; and approximately 14 metres north-west of the north-western kerb line of St Margaret’s Road or thereabouts;
(xvi) Park Road; 8 metres north of the northern kerb line of Woodlands Avenue or thereabouts.

The speed humps (i) to (xi) would be of round-top (sinusoidal) design, approximately 75 millimetres at their highest point with an overall length of 3.7 metres. The speed cushions (xii) to (xiv) would be approximately 75 millimetres at their highest point with an overall length of 3.0 metres, a width of 1.6 metres with 2 speed cushions spaced equally across the width of the carriageway. The kerb-to-kerb flat-top raised speed tables (xv) would be of flat top design, approximately 75 millimetres at its highest point with an overall length of 13.0 metres. The kerb-to-kerb flat-top raised speed table (xvi) would be of flat top design, approximately 75 millimetres at its highest point with an overall length of 8.0 metres. The speed humps, speed cushions and kerb-to-kerb flat-top raised speed tables would be constructed in accordance with Department for Transport regulations.

A copy of the plans showing the locations of the speed humps, speed cushions and kerb-to-kerb flat-top raised speed tables may be inspected between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m., on Mondays to Fridays at the Information Centre, Lynton House, 255–259 High Road, Ilford Essex IG1 1NY.

Any person wishing to object or make representation to the proposals should send a statement in writing of either their objection or representation and the grounds thereof to the Head of Highways and Transportation Strategy, Lynton House, 2nd Floor Front, 255–259 High Road, Ilford, Essex IG1 1NY quoting reference CP/TE/SA-PM/25-TS by no later than 5th June 2025.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Council of the London Borough of Redbridge after consultation with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis, propose to make the above-mentioned Order in exercise of the powers, conferred by Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The general effect of the Order would be to introduce a 20 MPH zone in the roads and lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. A further effect of the Order would be to revoke parts of and consolidate the existing 20 MPH Zones into the same Order.

A copy of the Order and of the Orders being revoked, together with a plan of the area and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected between 9.00 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. on Wednesdays), until the end of six weeks from the date on which the Order is made or as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, at the Information Centre, Lynton House, 255–259 High Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 1NY.
